Yeah, loss of memory, or alteration of memory, is a common tactic in anime, and it often makes me cry. Other shows that used it were: Clannad, Pita Ten, Shonen Onmiyoji, Code Geass, Bleach, Please Teacher, Full Moon, etc. I think I probably cried during all of them. There is something about having everyone forgeting that you were ever there, of having your presence totally removed, having your very existence erased, that is much worse than dying. It always makes me cry.

Thats why Tsubasa Chronicle makes me sad is because no matter how many feathers Sakura gets back she will never remember Shauron.

Let's see.....I cried during Fruits Basket, towards the end of the series when it was all dramatic. lol.

And I cried in Fushigi Yugi when Nuriko died. ;.; That was sure depressing.

Oh! I cried in Sailor Moon at one point. Wow.....I'm a wuss. lol.

Let's see....and in the original Pokemon movie when Pikachu almost died. XD

Also I cried in public during Princess Mononoke, which I saw in a Portland theater when it first came out, which was shortly after I'd been helping in campaigns to save ancient forests.
I've cried watching friends' fanfic theatre / hearing them read their fanfics at Bedtime Stories.
(Oddly enough, this is often the case involving Gundam Wing--which I still have to get around to watching as a whole some day.........yeah.)
I believe I cried at the first ep of the Black Rose sequence of Utena.
I cried in the Rem Saverem ep of Trigun.
Oy vey, I'm sure there are more.......
In terms of manga, I cried in the Holocaust-related ep of Pet Shop of Horrors.
Oh and (back to series), I don't recall if there were tears, but I did gasp in shock when ordinarily light and cheering CLAMP School Detectives took a 180-degree turn in tone for I believe it was the penultimate ep.......

~Castle In the Sky: Laputa
My all time favorite movie. I always tear up when Sheeta and Pazu chant the spell to destroy the castle. The song and the animation just tear my heart. I lovelovelovelovelove this movie with all my heart. Laputa foreverr!

Who wouldn't cry at this game? hah I loved the ending. XD it made me sad that it was over. And I was really really sad to find out that Saria (MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CHARACTER) was a Sage : [[[[ whyyyyy [sniffsniff]

Ohhhh this one hurt my heart. I bawled when Noriko died, and when Tamahome forgot Miaka. I NEVER HATED YUI MORE. UGGHHH. But I understood her point of view, I just didn't approve of it. XD batch.

This movie.... affects me deeply. To the point where I can't help but cry every single time. Especially when Asuka and Misato die. Asuka was so happy, to finally find her mother, to know that her mother loved her. And then she gets hella stabbed. DX and Misato, oh goodness. Don't even get me started, I'm starting to cry RIGHT NOW. XD

~Tenchi Muyo/Tenchi In Tokyo
Ryoko's unrequited love. Oh how I love her. She is my ultimate favorite character. And it hurt my heart that Tenchi was so DARN OBLIVIOUS until the ending. OMG IDIOOTTTT. I always cry in the first series and universe (alwayss) when she's like "Don't go Tenchi!! you'll die! I love you!!" and he's like "I have to save Ayeka" [twitch] argh...I hate Tenchi. Stupid stupid stupid. She's only your great aunt times 10,000,000,000. ew. ////When Sakuya dies in Tenchi in Tokyo I couldn't help but bawl. She was the first girl Tenchi loved (which is pretty darn significant since he has a HUGE flock of women after him) and she ends up freaking not being real.wtf.wtf. :[

I KNOW! I loved the tachikomas, they were my favorite characters in that series! Then you see their emotionless replacements at the end and kind of feel ill.

number of games have. mainly Final Fantasy 6. I think Persona 2 may have.....it at least made me very sad and depressed.

I cried at a part of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

Then in .hack//GU when Alkaid died. However, I suppose that’s a video game and not an anime.

Also Millennium Actress, I was all like ‘BAAAAWWWWW!!!’

Dang… now that I think about it… I probably cried during a lot of other animes that people have already listed…

^{Well, the ending of NOIR made me cry...
I think the anime that made me cry most was Princess Tutu, I cried several times while watching it (because of sad moments, and the fact that it's just such a beautiful series ;A; srsly), and whenever I watch the ending of it I cry. Bawwww..

Also, ...Pokemon. xDD

I cried many times during Evangelion, especially during the last two episodes. I cried a bit too when Fruits Basket ended. Whenever there is an amazing anime that seemed to sort I cry just because it ended. Hehe, it's just anime that makes to do this....really.

a lot of times in naruto when people die and what not.

haku, zabuza, third, asuma, uh others I won't say just cause I don't know how to do the spoiler thing.

Fruits Basket Manga because the characters are more deep and the story is more drawn out.

GTO a few times I don't really remember too much.

Yu Yu Hakusho, oh kuwabara, a mulberry isn't a bush but it was really sad when you died.

azumanga daioh, I never graduated from High School so that kinda got to me a little.

Now on to video games

I am a very emotional person. I cried during most of the FF games. I can't really remember too many animes. I have mentioned some before. But other than those ones I can't really think of others.

I, too, couldn't help welling up at that game's end. I had to excuse myself while the credits rolled just to get readjusted and not cry all over the psp, lol. Amazing ending, and the same goes for FFVII. Not so much any given moment in the game but more the overall relationship between Cloud and Aeris. This carries over to Advent Children, the ending of which I just can't survive. *spoiler* When Aeris is leaving the church and looks back at Cloud...slays me every time.

they know how to develop characters really really well. And they are really good at making songs that suit the mood of the current situation.

Yeah, no kidding. Nobuo Uematsu is a master of emotional and conceptual song composition. Minimalism can break hearts, and Aeris' Theme is a wonderful example of this, starting off with nothing but solitary piano notes.

If anything gets me to tears quickly, it is hearing the music and letting myself think of the emotions of the characters. I tend to get sucked into FF with an amazing amount of empathy way too quickly.

The thing with aeris and cloud didn't really do anything for me, I had my time with cloud trying to be himself when the whole game he thought he was someone else. He tried really hard to keep his promise and actually playing FFVII made me not really like Tifa very much, I still think she's hot but she didn't even know how much cloud cared or tried until she was in his mind. Is there any other games besides FF games that get people to tear up? I stated Disgaea and I'll admit that a lot of times Metal Gear Solid gets to me too, I still want to play 3 and 4 but can't just yet. I Don't know if anyone remembers it but The Bouncer got me a few times too.

Yeah the song right before Why on the soundtrack and the song that plays when you are in the last fight is really sad. For a while every time I heard it I cried XD

The last fight song...do you mean One-Winged Angel? That song is epic but I don't think it gets to me in that way. There are many other songs on the soundtrack that get me teary, though.

Oh, we're back to Crisis Core! haha, sorry, got off-track there. Yes, I totally agree with you on that. Crisis Core is simply fantastic with the compositions it holds. The artist's personal twists on some of FFVII's classic themes are just amazing, and (I didn't think it was possible) but he actually manages to inject even more emotion into the songs and evoke even more out of the listener. "Aeris' Theme" is even more of a tearjerker with the Crisis Core rendition, the acoustic guitar and/or violin added...has me weeping like a baby. So beautiful!

Okay, that's it. I just convinced myself to go find the album and order it. No more waiting, lol.
