I'm likely going to restrict myself to about 5-6 cosplays. mostly for my budget. I like to shop for doujinshi and artwork at the dealers.

I'll be staffing as well, which is why I'm trying not to have so many cosplays.

I JUST GOT BACK FROM JO ANNS!
I spent $30 in total for Christmas Hunny, My super secret cosplay, and gold ribbon for the Spika Uniform.
I'll be making like a pink cape for hunny and wearing it over the uniform with a pink santa hat. OR If i have enough Pink fleece left I'll make a shirt or something XD

THE PINK FLEECE [$4 a yard] IS THE SAME COLOR AS USA-CHAN! My cute bun-bun XD
The cape will has fuzz [$5 a yard] all around the edge and I got interfacing from my mom's shop for the hat so that it can try to stand up xD

I can't speak about my super secret cosplay so I hush hush about what I bought for it.

Alter it thens.

When I got my ouran jacket [/from goodwill] it was to big so I took in the sides, cut the sleeves.
Used a merrow then a lacing machine to hide the merrowed part of the sleeve to the inside and it was all good. [/courtacy of my mom's alteration shop]
Then I sewed on the patch when it got here XD

[/gasp] You should learn how to sew.
It saves lots f cash if you make your own cosplays.
Example: The ouran top on ebay, just the top itself sells for $82.
I got the jacket for $12 and the patch for $7. I made the tie myself and the spool of purple ribbon was $3.
I had a white button up shirt, black shoes, and black business pants. If I bought the fabric for the tie [/which would've been 1/2 yard of black fabric] it would have been like $3 for one yard. Total: ~$20 for the whole thing compared to just the jacket for $82
