what if we had a work day once a month where we'd all gather and well work on cosplays. It's always fun to work with others.
my house has a sewing mechine and an adjustible mannequin. There'd have to be a second sewing machine. and a max of 8 people.
we could do it at other houses as well, of course. we could work it to where we have work out day and work day on the same weekend. not same days. or just do it other weekends.

working with other people is great because every one can't give suggestions and stuff.... so.... yeah... what do ya'll think?

I think it's a good idea, however I have next to no sewing skills. I've never been in any cosplay contests cause all of my cosplay is bought or just slightly tweaked.

I'm unsure of once a month, but getting updates of whenever there was one'd be cool ^^;

I'd suggest more sewing machines, though... I'd bring my own, o'course.

yay the idea finally arises. yeah I though people bringing their own machines and materials and sharing would be better. I could try to rustle up some snacks or when we hang we just order pizza or something. :3

well yeah, i attempted during the summer, but certain people bring drama and distration and i'm a drama free person, so my house is."the drama free zone"

well my next free weekends are 15th/16th of nov. and 22/23
then 20th/21st of dec. if nn of those work we could wait til after the holidays then we'll all be free-er

this sounds like a great idea, my only thing about it is my work scedule seems o change every freakin week (and yes i am lookin for a differnt job) right now sundays are free till 5 and saterdays after 2

tho i have cosplays on back burner could i work on brides maid dresses

Same here, most of my cosplays were pieces of just the right clothes and stuff. Though I only never entered a cosplay contest because I was afraid I'd never stand a chance to win. Most of the time preparing for K-con '08 I had no one else but myself to do it, or be in my skit.

I don't know how many more DragonBall fans are left out there...compared to Kingdom Hearts,Naruto, Bleach, and Death Note. Most of which I never seriously watched on TV/played or have money to buy the DVDs. I don't know enough about the more popular series to be able to base cosplays off of them, and the older series such as DragonBall and Inuyasha are apparently outdated. What's an old fan to do?

And so, except for sewing a patch onto a denim jacket, I really don't have anything I could bring to have worked on.

Sounds interesting. Though I'm really not much of a sewer... I can build things, and paint as long as the design isn't extremely complex... But sewing not so much. I can just do enough sewing to get me by; buttons, patches, quick fixes... >>;;

well when we have had cosplay workdays in the past it's to work on any part of your cosplay that you need too. it's really just a get to together to get help if you need it, get to work, or to socialize. :3

that's good. :3 and we tend to have extra materials for certain things so whenever we're setting up a cosplay workday people can say what they need here and someone can tell them if they have it and let them use it.

different people bring different ideas. And later we're going to teach quinci to sew. but first she'll get to work on her anchor but i'll leave that for after new years.....*needs to go to joanns* <_< >_> -_-

ok so the weekend of the 22/23 still open? we only need a day. we can have this one at my house for i assume it'll be a small amount of us and 2 to 3 people will be working on wedding/ xmas presents. i'll prob stitch around from coslpay to gift then back to cosplay i like have a veriety to work on.

ok so Saturday Nov 22 at my house. now what times do we want to do this? THere's no actual rule when people have to leave, mother goes to be at 9 or 10pm so that just means din't be loud, but other then that we're pretty fexible here

Sorry to say that I wont be able to make it this weekend. I found out that I have a midterm on Monday and I'll have to study for that, and I get a lot more work done at school then I do at home =/

yeah....I wanted to go but I really I have three essays that I need to practice (one of the three will be on the test) and then the rest of the material to study.

It would just be better if I were here, also a lot of the people will be gone all day Saturday because there is a LAN so I should get lots of work done

Sometime during winter break might be a good idea....I wouldn't mid if it was before sakuracon seeing how I will most likely still need to work on that costume x.x
