So I know we have lots of Yaoi and Yuri fans out there!

Which is your favorite couple and from what Anime?

Mine is a yuri couple from a yaoi anime/manga. lol
Kouya & Yamato from Loveless. They had a brief appearance but it was very meaningful!

hmm...for characters that are not normally yaoi.  I have to say Haku(Naruto) and either Sasuke or Naruto.  read some very good fanfic that had Haku and Sasuke.  Those with Naruto usually are very short and rather shallow, but fun.  or they have Haku as a girl

As for those characters that are yaoi, the 3% of yaoi that I liked is very minor.  But I guess Tsuda and Kaname would be it.  they're in the first chapter of Goshujinsama ni Kiwotsukete, which seems to be a collection of short stories of shounen ai/yaoi.

Yuri.....only Strawberry Panic and Maria-sama comes to mind....but its too early for me to say any of them are my fav yet.

Absolutly! They still fall into the same kind of show. (Well, in my opinion)

Yuri: Never found a good one I liked too much.

Hiroki Hida and Yukio Oikawa from Digimon Adventure 02. Don't remember these two? Not surprising given that Hiroki only showed up in flashback and Yukio looked a hell of a lot different later on (by which I mean the animators came after him with Ugly Sticks). But Yukio (the one with the black hair) was madly in love, and when Hiroki died, that love turned to madness and the obsessive need to fulfil their promise to go to the Digital World...even if that meant selling his soul to do so. However in the end, he wound up saving everything. To say how, though, is a massive spoiler.


Buson (the buff one) and Bashou (the little one) from Pokémon. Sadly, they're known for exactly two things--being really badly dubbed (Bashou got a woman's voice--although he's refered to as a man--and Buson was made really crass*) in a special that was vastly overrated to *begin* with, and having a WHAT THE HELL cameo in the ninth movie (they captured Rayquaza. It happens in the first five minutes of the movie, affects nothing of the plot, and has never been mentioned again, anywhere, so that's not a spoiler). However, they have insanely great chemistry...which is funny because they never really do anything personal. We only ever see them when they're being strictly professional. But they work together in ways that no other evil duos do, or even heroic duos. Things go unspoken because they don't need to be said. They have a comfort around each other that even the longest relationships on that show don't have. The power levels are interesting...plus it's cool to see a guy who looks like a total femme be the confidant leader while not relying on his good looks to do so (while he easily could) and the muscle *knows* he's stronger and doesn't make a deal out of having to haul stuff because honestly it's what works. Buson does what Bashou tells him to and it doesn't make either of them stronger or weaker, just "partners" because that's how they work.
(*I say "crass" because while he says some pretty stupid things, they didn't diminish that he's a computer whiz, so they didn't exactly make *him* stupid. Although people got the impression that he was dumb *before* the dub came out, so anyone drawing that conclusion can't even necessarily have the dub to blame for it)

I just remember princess princess.  even hints at some shounen ai as fan service/joke(author likes to write yaoi stories, this is one of her non yaoi stories though).


Maria Holic.  Otome Boku(not full name).
both of those have have boy crossdressing to attend an all girl's school.  seems to have some implied yuri fanservice.  In Otome, if even feels like they sometimes forget the main character is a boy!

I admit- alot of these "couples" are "unofficial" and just the mad fantasies of many fangirls, but it works ^_~. (besides, some are so obvious, it hurts...)

Hmm,  Not normally the stuff I watch.  I prefer love triangle comedies.  I suppose in that vein all toss out Kashimashi: Girl meets Girl , The Hazumu & Yasuna pairing as one of my favorite yuri couples.  I like Maria-sama ga Miteru, but can't say I have a favorite pairing in this show.

I also enjoy VanDread and Saber Marionette J, although neither really has a pronounced yuri or yaoi pairing, there is plenty of effort being put in by Mitsurugi Hanagata in SM-J to be with Otaru Mamiya, probably one of my favorite humor based unrequited yaoi pairings.  Since both shows are supposedly based on societies that are all men or all women, it is surprising that there isn't more obvious yaoi or yuri pairings.

Simoun, a show that came out two years ago will provide plenty of yuri for those who like it.  It is about a society composed entirely of women that are given the choice to change gender when they turn 17.  If that isn't weird enough they fly around in mechs that can only be operated by the young women who haven't made a choice yet.  Can you say lesbian angst?  Plenty of it here.

If you like yaoi/okama characters, you might enjoy Hana from Tokyo Godfathers or Ginka Midarezaki from Kyouran Kazoku Nikki, I love that show.  Each character has their own ending theme.  Here is Ginka's.

I have seen other shows with hinted unrequited yuri relationships, but I think these are all of my favorites.

I also really enjoy princess tutu and the raven. it makes no sense but its still cool. and I also tend to put mai valentine(yes from yugioh, I have a strange obbsession I know) and my oc I made for that series...I don't really want to see her with jou. >_> and then I also love MegxJoe from burst angel. ^_^

I think you're not alone.  according to this wiki link, the nagisa + tamao pairing was voted the most popular in Japan numerous times for the short stories at least.
