OK back to geek-a-zoid life: The guy that did the crystal radio from galena was one of my good friends from high school. He was prez of the ham radio club and new tons about circuits and tubes (he could identify what many of them did by their numbers - I just know about 3 or 4.) There are also books about how to make your own vacuum tubes using ashtrays and epoxy. Much geeking required...

If you hear a football commentator on TV referring to a "crossplay" & think of ManFaye, ManRei, or Sailor Bubba, you might be a nerd/geek.

(Tidpit of info: in football, crossplay is an offensive play where the quarterback passes the ball to a runningback, about eight yards to his left or right; it's similar to a lateral pass. Crossplay is also a spiking technique in volleyball).
