xD seems everyones popping intot his thread eh?
Portlands great! I've lived here all my life, and Ive been to a ton of diffrent places to compare it to as well....
heres my advice:
When you come first get a small portable umbrella, carry it on you at all times in fall winter and spring, ocasionaly in summer, forcasters are known to say it wont rain when it will... we dont gte a lot of snow but we have gotten some pretty bad storms before where we get stuck (it snows then ice can ocsionaly freeze over and make it seriosly slick, still walkable if you have good shoes but its not the best for driving, some years ago the schools hwere out for over a week because of this)
then check out powels book store, the one downtown, its HUGE i think the bigist one on this side of the country, if not the whole country. its got three levels, and its over a block by block in square area, across the street from it on one part is Roccos pizza, really good pizza, for REALLY cheap, the prices are great and the slices are huge, i went there with four friends and the pizza was big enough that all four of us ate plenty with only 5 dollers.
go to Hawthorn street, it has some of the best stores in town. Red light is a must, the one on hawthorn is the bigist one in the town, it's all second hand clothing but its got some really cool stuff again for good prices, ocasionaly theres a hole or two but your a cosplayer so I dont think it will be much trouble for you to fix :3
also on hawthorn make sure you check out the Avalon arcade (or wonderland as some call it) It's really good, and you play with nickkles, so its great for that spare change hanging around.
the light rale is one of the best ways to travel, get a map of where it goes, its handy, cheap, and doesnt stop for red lights even though the tracks run the streets with all the other cars, so its really fast.
well thats my advice for some one new to portland <3
