I just regestered for the Kumoricon 4 tickets...
So when we walk up  to the door to the Kumoricon we just give them the paper with the code on it that they sent us in the E-mail or is there more to it?

People just need to have some form of ID, we match the names registered, and then let people in.

For people who don't have some form of ID (yes, school IDs work fine) then parents make good IDs

If your parent can prove they are who they say they are, then they can prove that you are who they say they are, so yes, as long as THEY have ID, they can (unless there's a policy change I'm unaware of).  It will still help if you have your own ID, however.

You aren't quite as S-O-L as you think, though.  You still have like 6 months until con-time, and you still have at least 2 more options:

(1) Have a parent with ID there.  If a parent can prove who they are, and they're with you, they can effectively prove who you are.  Especially if you're a minor, you'll need to have a parental consent form anyways.

(2) Acquire an official ID that isn't a school ID between now and then.  The DMV issues them for a low price (I'm pretty sure it's in the neighborhood of $12), even if it isn't for a driver's permit or whatnot.  That will also easily cover the ID situation.

This is me.  I am PezCat.

I am now PezCat running around and hitting things because the minor consent form isn't posted.  GWAR!  *thunk whack smash*

As soon as it's ready (and it damn well better be ready soon) it will be downloadable from the site.  Then it just needs to be signed and presented at the con when you register.  Details upcoming (hopefully very soon)

well, that IS similar to the spanish spelling (PezGato)... and I've become fond of the Japanese pseudo-form of it too - PezNeko (or Pezu-Neko)

As for forms and info, you (and anyone reading this) will get the info almost as soon as I do anytime I hear about it.

Oh, it will be up earlier this year, that is for damn sure.  I'll friggin' handwrite one and link to it on here if necessary.  The fact that we didn't have one until as late as we did last year was a BIG source of consternation for me at the con.

There is not a cap on pre-registration.  The only cap will be on at-the-door admissions, and a specific number has not been decided yet.  If you pre-register, regardless of when you do it, you will get into the con, guaranteed.  As long as you show up.

Well I'm a little worried because I mailed my Pre-Reg off in the middle of May and I see on my account that the check was deposited a couple of weeks ago but I still haven't gotten and e-mail confirmation for my registration.  So I was just wondering if they would just all be sent out at the same time or if I should worry?

@Kay-Skay790

No need to worry.  Basically, if you sent off a hard copy registration, and your check has cleared, it likely means I just haven't gotten around to actually sending confirmation emails to you yet.  Given my current work schedule, and the fact I only have time to do most of this at work, I've been a little on the bogged down side, and confirmation emails are lower on the priority list than getting everything into the database and such.

Still, if you're concerned and want a direct confirmation sooner rather than later, I usually have time to answer questions, which can be sent to kumoripez@hotmail.com or registration@kumoricon.com - the former of which reaches me directly (and thus I can answer faster), while the latter adds a step by routing through K-con's site itself.

I am still trying to figure out what the deal is for getting a nickname on my con badge.

I have heard a few 'sort of' answers, but nothing definate.  Is there someone I need to contact to tell what I want on my con badge?  Or will there be a big general email sent out to all those who have already preregistered?  Please help sort this out for me.

Last year there was no problem with nicknames. It was just whatever name was put on the form. They're definitely not printed up yet so if you get a request emailed out then I'm sure it can be changed in the grand spreadsheet of doom.

well, yeah, last year on the online preregistration form there was a place where you could enter in your desired con badge nickname, the online form this year had no such option.

Could someone on the con staff please post an email that I could send my con badge nickname request to?

funny you should mention that. At the 2003 comic-con I cosplayed as Timmespin, a fanboy-gone-bad from the webcomic Fans! who was actually based on me! He was actually nicknamed Tim the Fanboy before he went evil.

Parental Consent Form Question...
« Reply #34 on: July 17, 2005, 04:44:25 pm »
Hi. I'm 17, and I will be attending the con with another 17 year old and two 16 year olds. I understand from your policies that we only need parental consent to go to the con and would only need a parent/guardian with us if we are there after midnight? But the only form you have on the site is one giving someone guardian status...

So my question is do we need a guardian with us at all times or do we just need some form of a note from our parents saying we can attend the con?
Thanks.

You can use that form to have your parents give you guardian status over your self.  There are limitations to that, meaning that you will still be a minor, and as such have to follow the curfew rules, and cannot purchase swords or adult materials in the exhibit hall.

Hey, I was wondering, about pre-registeration.  Me and a friend are going to pre-register tomorrow.  Should we sign up seperately, or altogether? If we sign up at the same time, will we be able to put two different nicknames on our badges; or should we just do it seperately since we need to put down our address, etc.?  OK, thank you, I'm just a little nooby, tooby!  =3

Last time they let minor's purchase swords heck I saw like a 13 year old walking out of the hall with a katana.

The next time you see that, please inform one of the staff.  Our dealers have to follow the rules as well, and selling weapons to minors is a big no-no.  Now, if the parent buys it and then hands it to their kid, there's little we can do about it.
