I just confirmed this is an "easter egg" in our forum software, Simple Machines Forum. It's also a waste of time for server administrators who need to check to see if there has been a security compromise, and complicates the feature surface area.

Considering this, and the recent apparent policies on the SMF forums to disallow discussion of already publicly-disclosed security vulnerabilities, I am definitely less inclined to keep using Simple Machines Forum than before.
