Childhood Boy Bands
« on: December 18, 2008, 04:44:17 pm »
So I don't know if this was just my generation or not but Alyssa (Invader Spleen) and I were talking about the boy bands we listened to when we were younger. I'm sure that these were the two main big ones... Anyways. So I'm wondering which ones people listened to more. I'm gunna post a list of songs so that people know who did which.

N'Sync
*Pop
*Bye Bye Bye
*It's Gonna Be Me
*Gone
*I Want You
*This I Promise You
*I Drive Myself Crazy
*Girlfriend
*I'll Never Stop

Backstreet Boys
*I Want It That Way
*As Long As You Love Me
*Everybody
*Shape Of My Heart
*Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely
*Larger Than Life
*The Call
*Drowning

XD Great. I still like N'Sync too a little. We were comparing N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys to a modern day boy band: the Jonas Brothers. Quality of talent sure has depleted over the years.
I miss 2010.

I was BSB mostly. Second CD I ever bought was Millenium when I was probably 12 or 13. (First being 3 Doors Down, whom I LOVE much more)

I agree with Westlife though. Later I enjoyed OTown too. I Love them. And as a group I loved Sclub7.

I like all music though. Boy band or no.

Savage garden- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6Dg1Ymji-Q

LOOOOOL this must have been on the radio 10,000+ times.

Then there was Goo goo dolls, fastball, and matchbox twenty. <3333

LOVE 90's bands. Vertical Horizon, Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Yes to Savage Gardens, Smash Mouth, Blink 182, 3 Doors Down, Cake, Bush, Collective Soul, Creed, Everclear, OMG Garbage, Our Lady Peace, Third Eye Blind, Bowling for Soup and yes even Good Charolette and New Found Glory...etc. (Those are the bands of my Highschool years)

Honestly I hate todays music half the time. It all sounds R&B-clubish. I love a good voice. (And Greenday was kinda depressing to me too, except for when I was going through a punk phase....lol)

And I will always kinda love Spice Girls.  They make me smile, and remember silly times with my old friends.

*For the record I favored BSB over NSync, to get back on topic. :)*

And I will always kinda love Spice Girls.  They make me smile, and remember silly times with my old friends.
I remember when I went as ginger spice for Halloween. That was the first time I ever dyed my hair.
Aaahh, how inappropriate for a 9 yr.-old to wear thick eye makeup, huge pumps, and a British flag dress.
I wore that on my first day to school when I transferred on the day of a school Halloween march.
Everybody thought I was cool xD
Now I'd just be made fun of lol.
Funny how time changes everything.

From my childhood it was the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Monkees. The Monkees being the only band that was specifically formulated as opposed to guys getting together to form a band, because it was for TV, not for the music. Although they did have their share of hits, but then Neil Diamond went on his own making more hits fro himself. One of the Monkees did make a large name for himself, with the money he got from his mother who invented White-Out, his creation, MTV.
Have Fun
