Amtgard is a worldwide LARP group that uses swords and weapons made from plastic pipes, bamboo, and carbon golf club shafts wrapped in foam padding for mock combat. There are some spell users and bow-and-arrow users that use extremely padded self-made arrows. The rules are simple: Sign a waiver, come in cosplay that could resemble someone who might have lived in the age of 1650 or earlier, and ask to borrow a weapon. Combat rules are simple: head and neck strikes don't count and are strayed away from. Any shot to the torso is a kill. Any two limbs (arm/arm, /leg/leg, arm/leg) is a kill, and two shots to the same arm is also a kill. Strikes on hands holding weapons or feet on the ground do not count but are okay to hit.
