New Years Resolution
« on: January 02, 2009, 10:31:35 am »
I want to hear everyone’s resolution. Mine is to lose five pounds, get a six pack, try to raise my GPA to a 3.5 or at least get a 3.5 for the rest of the terms this year. Get an internship, save money for cons, and finally fully finish Albel :P

Well, mine isn't really a New Year's Resolution, because I don't do those, but it could work, since my goal would require me to finish it prior to 2010...

I want to win the Kumoricon 2009 Novella fanfic contest, doing it two years in a row, by taking my failure from two years ago and restructuring it into a different storyline.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh

So far, my wife and I have resolved to get rid of all these old VHS tapes we aren't watching (see my thread under manga swap).  I also hope to finally get my anime on MyAnimeList.  I have made a small start, that is going to be very time consuming.  I should also make a spreadsheet of my books, CD's and DVD's, I am always forgetting what I have.  I have a nice bicycle, and I resolve to actually ride on it this summer (I know my body would thank me, at least some of it would, the rest will probably scream at me really loud).  I resolve to only drink one caffinated beverage a day, d**n broke that one, um two, f**k , three!!  Three caffinated beverages a day.  I resolve to tell my wife I love her at least once a week (You would be amazed at how few times you actually tell your spouse this after 23 years of marriage).  I resolve that next year I will do something on my 25th Wedding Anniversary (Hey, it is never to early to make a resolution).

I guess that is a good enough start for now.  Wish me luck.   :D

Thanks,  I am going to need all the luck I can get.  Especially on the riding the bike, and 3 caffinated beverages a day part.  ::)

I want to have a garden this year, not a weed patch. I know this will put me in much better physical condition. Using a shovel, the greatest exercise known to man. I have so much of that to do, woof.

Ride your bike to the store for your caffeinated beverages? Then bicycle to farther stores as you get in better and better shape.
Have Fun

I know you would want to start off big with the bike riding but maybe just go around your neighborhood a few times to start off with. If you jump into it and bike like 10 miles your first time you will get really sore and that may put you off from doing it again. Don't over do it ^_^

That's the best advice I can give ;D

get down to weighing 160, get a job and keep it, to finish all my cosplays, and to pass this year of HS with almost all A's.

shouldn't be too hard I guess.

Good advice.  I'm usually pretty OK.  Eugene has LOTS of bike trails, and I live in the flat part, so I don't usually exert myself to much.  I was riding to Springfield and back last year, without to much trouble.  Hardest part was the dang Chambers street bridge.  That thing is steep when riding a bike down Roosevelt.  I have to really gear down to make it.  If I get to worked up I just hop off and push it up the hill.  I will probably make trips to Valley River Center to watch movies.  It isn't to hard to do with the pedestrian bridge in the back parking lot.  I can just go down Roosevelt take the Chambers bridge to River Road and turn into the park.  I can almost get there faster than if I drive my car.   :D  Makes me wish there was a car bridge from River Road to VRC, but that would be convenient.   ::)

I would also like to not be such a bad person. I'm really horrible and it bothers me how selfish I am.

To figure out exactly what I want to do with my life, try to get into a graduate program, maybe get a job at a theme park (if grad school is nearby), not procrastinate on cosplays, lose weight.
