I have tumors in my left leg. They are attached to my nervous system. It all is cased by a disease I have called neurofibromatosis type 1.

But back on topic yes cosplaying and crossplaying is for everyone.

it's not the cosplay I'm afraid of. Princess Peach is a favorite character of mine. It's just that I would be too terrified to crossplay as her, even more scared of trying a bible black cosplay. Some of you wonder why I'd be so shaken?

So, my main question behind this. What attitude should you bring with your cosplay? Not just to a con, but any event, like a meetup or picnic?

Tipically bring a fun attitude. You can be "In character" if you want but most break character constantly. The only time you really do the character stuff is when pics are taken or your doing a skit. (Or so it seems.)

And Cosplay is for everyone. Crossplay is for the bold and daring. LOL. (even more so if your a guy crossplaying a girl in my opinion. Props to that!)

That is why I packed my red ninja outfit along with my mainstream, Trunks.  I only want to make friends at these events but I end up with the wrong timing, or I don't know a thing about what they're talking about. And since noobs are punished so, I try so hard not to be one and yet rush too fast.

And I know what bible black is...but I don't have the money or desire to watch it.

I guess it's just the events I've been trying to go to. More girls have signed up than guys and feeling outnumbered and out of place I didn't know whether to carry on and attend with my fellow cosplayers or play it safe and not go.

Well, you do what's comfortable for you. Nobody expects you to cosplay just because they themselves do. Everyone cosplays for their own benefit, and if anyone has hangups about it, it probably means cosplay isn't for them. It is all about personal comfort (in situations, I mean, not in particular clothing).

I for one don't go to the meetups on here mainly because I already feel super old just reading the forums knowing a lot of the people are 6-10 years younger than I am (and I am only 23..) so I can't imagine how weird it would be, for me, to go to those!

That being said, I cosplay, though pretty much only at conventions these days. I'd say the best thing you can do is make friends at the con itself, that way you have people you won't feel weird around to hang out with the rest of the year!

Funny part about that is, these meetups give me a chance to try out different cosplays so I can use my best at the conventions, which to me are the pinnacle of my labors. Another thing is that, yeah I made some friends at MEWcon, but most live in Washington or I never got their info before the weekend was up.

By the by, is there anyone in here who's not going to Sakuracon?  *shot'd*

Im not....sadly

And Yeah I know the feeling old part. Im only 23 but it seems much older than many here, plus I have a baby one the way (due the week before Sakuracon, which is why I am not going lol) Plus my Fiance is a director at 28 years old. We normally dont fit in. But thats why I think there are people planning 21+ things to go to for us old people LOL.

*On topic*
I know David wants to crossplay from Sailor Moon, but he wants to loose a few pounds first. LOL.
I might crossplay a yugioh character but im still undecided.
Oh my..I don't think I could imagine David as a sailor scout! o.o

It would be hillarious though! I dont think many would expect it. We would have to get a group together.
