Here's the real question... Is it pushing it to play Rhianna's Umbrella track because the Kumoricon mascot has one?

-M  :D

Lol maybe.
I was thinking the same thing in a way, like requesting some songs like "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga, but *shrugs*

When we had the masquerade last year, I noticed a large hole in the collection including Vamo ala Flamenco from FFIX and Waltz for the Moon and Dance With the Balamb Fish from FFVIII. But I highly doubt these songs will be played this year because of the more 'casual' theme. But if there's a chance for any of them, I'd be willing to send full copies of the songs to the DJ. <3

I agree with the "Just Dance" I know it isn't anime but that song is absolutely amazing. I'm actually listening to it now :P

I haven't seen what others said, but I'll toss in my opinion:
For one, please let there be some slow dance songs XD It is a masquarade. It woulden't be right without a few we can waltz to! (I'm a geek, yes :'3)

As for other music, I can't really think of anything at the moment, sadly. ^^;; Anime music in general, I s'pose.

Just to clarify... this dance is not a masquerade.  It is up to the DJ to decide what music is played, but it will primarily be anime music :)

Ahh! Okies. I was assuming it would be a bit more masquarade esque like last year(though I didn't get to go. Foo). But I'm sure no matter what it will be an awesome dance. ^^ Sorry coulden't help with music choices.

Colbert remixes would also make me die of happy.

Oh hey, do you have that latest Street Fighter remix?  Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD?  It was made available for free in conjunction with OC Remix.  Red Cyclone from that, or any Grammar Club Remix (or, well, anything Grammar Club) would make me happy.

Though, for a more on-topic request, Wana by The Black Horn would be great.  It was one of the Gundam 00 Songs.  The first Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei OP, "All Twisted Up Inside" would also rock.

I'm looking for a website where I can download a high quality audio version.  I found the one on colbert nation but it's less than a minute and at a low bit rate.  I could use it but I would prefer the reremix in a lossless format.  Worse comes to worse I can rip it from the video but I worry about distortion when we play it LOUD.

Since I just looove having my questions ignored, I'll ask it again:

"When we had the masquerade last year, I noticed a large hole in the collection including Vamo ala Flamenco from FFIX and Waltz for the Moon and Dance With the Balamb Fish from FFVIII. But I highly doubt these songs will be played this year because of the more 'casual' theme. But if there's a chance for any of them, I'd be willing to send full copies of the songs to the DJ. <3"

I think these songs might be a bit more formal than most of the stuff I'm going to play but if you'd like to bring a cd with Waltz for the Moon with you I think I could give it a go.  There are a couple of requests for swing and some other classical anime music that I can make a set out of.  I think I might have project magiestic mix remixes of them in my collection that might also work out, but I'll double check.  Sorry for not responding I'm usually juggling the planning five different shows at the same time so I bounce around a lot and might take awhile to respond to things.  For example I just got done working lighting for another winter dance last week, I'm planning tech for the Portland Vampire Masqurade Ball, and I have a breakdance show I'm working on at PSU.   I am collecting song requests and matching that up with my collection and check out links and listening to the music.  I'm just a bit behind with everything I'm working on.

So no Paul Oakenfold?

Would faster Kill Pussycat work?  It's got the catgirl crossover.  Most of the Oakenfold I have are his mixed albums like transport or global underground.

That would be fine. There is an Oakenfold track on the Appleseed sound track called "Burns Attack", though, so maybe that one as well? If you can find it I mean.

Thanks for coming I had a blast spinning my anime/pop culture set.  I couldn't of done it without Jacki (the promotor and master of all things programming), Quin aka the electric jungle pig (lighting & co-dj), David (Lighting & Setup), Guy (AMVs) and Eric (MP3 support and additonal music).  Thanks for all the music requests it really helped me get a feel for what would make a really great night.

We had a very nice time at the dance. The music was great this time, easy to dance too. A big thank you to all
who worked so hard to give us a dance party. For what it's worth pre-reg was short and we did not get our ticket's early. $60.00 for the 4 of us was a lot. I think as things get tough it might make it hard for some to come to the dances. BANGBANGNEKO'S MOM
