« on: January 16, 2009, 06:38:07 pm »
the new brand of face wash. what are ppls opinions on it? it is really better then proactive?
i'll post a pic of my before then see if in as little as 3 days if my face has results. haha...

The stuff worked but irritated my face way too much. so i switched to what i originally wanted when mother was like try this its new and the tv says its works. my face like biore and has been toned way down.

haha... >_> stupid acne commercials.. i believe them like i believe the weight loss commercials..not at all

so i used the face wash for hte first time this morn and it smells and feels like vanilla yogurt with the ocasional scrubbing bead.
the spet two toner reminds me of a very mild sharpie smell.. or a light fresh plastic smell.

the lotion isn't as  nice to smooth across my face but it can't be perfect can it.

well it smells better then proactive. point.

looks like some progress to me. :3 and I'm not just saying that because I'm a friend. The intensity of the redness is dying down a bit.

It usually takes about a week (sometimes longer) before you'll notice a significant change when you use any skincare product. In your photos, it looks like redness has been reduced a little, but maybe you should take a photo after a week of use to see if there's a noticeable difference.

yeah i was just stating that the box says " see results in as little as 3 days" mom is making my use it for a week.

update:
I see decrease in black heads expecially on nose (yay no more faux freckles!)
general acne is the same. The type has changed usually does for the first few days of a swith of acne brand. its like Hey WTF?
I have two boil like zits (unpopable large bumps. one on nose as seen in pix and one below chin.. they have not increase nor decreased since the start just become really annoying)
Increase dryness has appear around the eyes, center of forehead/eye brow area, lower portion of mouth and chin indent area.
Increased irritaion on the outer points of eyes (hurts to cry..it burns!) and jaw line and neck..
Redness has appeared under eyes. which makes me look aged in a bad way.
There is a general decrease in redness everywhere else
and one white head *stare* "i'll pop you in the morning!"

I have cease the medication application around my eye area and use my more oily face lotion for that area.
I also do not medicate my neck at all so i find the skin irratant weird there. normal skin lotion is applied.

The top of my nose looks amazing though ^_^

most stuff like this may not see results for a month or so. That is how long it took me, and all the doctors I saw said to give things a month.....though it sounds like this stuff may be too rough for your skin.

Hm. I may have to look into this. I use Proactiv every now and then and it's not doing so hot. [/headwall] Maybe I should try actually using all three steps or whatever? XD

Proactive made my face too dry. Even with the lotion it comes with.
I use ::get ready:: Paula's choice skin recovery every morning, St. Ives apricot face scrub twice a week, Dickinson's Witch Hazel before bed, and Mary Kay Acne treatment gel (in case if a zit pops up anyway).
It took me years to figure it out, but I've finally figured out my system @__@
I also moisturize my face after I take showers.

Yeah my face can get really dry too. I have some moisturizer that is heavy duty stuff when that happens. Its extremely thick, like the same thickness as cream cheese and luckily it doesn't make me break out. ;D

though everyone is different. I have spent years trying to find the right stuff and since so many things didn't work I thought proactive wouldn't work either but it has :)

I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me the best thing in the world. It's called Differin (adapalene gel) and it works wonders. I also was prescribed birth control and that helps A LOT. Because ance is caused by too much testosterone in your body : D <3
I hope this helps a little [hitshead] you can beat acne!  : D I believe in you

Acne succckkssss D: I have a crazy skin routine and every once and awhile I still get a zit.
For me, makeup is what kills my skin. I can have super clear skin for months and then I wear oil free foundation ONE DAY and I get a huge zit XD
Heres my skincare rountine:

Morning:
Neutrogena acne free wash
Neutrogena toner
Johnson & Johnson oil free moisturizer + SPF 15 (really good stuff, very light)

Night:
St. Ives Acne Free Scrub
Boots Night Moisturizer (Best stuff EVER.)

And if you ever get a surprise pimple, this is the stuff to use: Clindamycin Phosphate. Yeah it sounds scary LOL. But it works wonders ;D
Birth control, as mentioned before, helped a lot too. And hey, it lightens your periods :D

I honestly dont remember the name of the acne stuff I was given as a teen but it was like applying rubbinb alcohol to my face with an aplicator pad with a little white bottle. 3 days and I went from pizza face to clear as a bell. since then any acne problems I have I just use rubbing alcohol. with a hydrogen peroxide followup. *shrugs* works like a charm for me but may not for others.

For the ladies I gotta back up going on birth control. I had terrible acne and went through pretty much every over the counter soap/medication you can buy, proactive, and 5 different kinds of dermatologist prescribed pills and cremes.
I've been on the pill for 2 years no and I've had a pretty clear face since.

i've switched to nearly entirely.....(thinking of name)... Biore.
i have a blackhear heating/clearing clenser.. <33 (i use this first to open my pores)
a daily scrub  (i use this or the one below next)
one that "clears things up" helps wash off make-up..
after i dry my face i use the ..astrigentic..(what ever)
and at night i use their night healing serum.

i was given Aveda ance free lotion which i use before moisterizing. help clear my redness(a make-up artist gave it to me)

in the shower i use the discarded left over face washes since i dont shower as often as i wash my face.

I dont like using the weird things you buy at stores for acne.
For me washing my hands seems to help my acne cause i touch my face alot and i have oily hands/
So for me washing my hands helps my face clear up.

I (thankfully) have very mild acne, but I was put on birth control for another reason (something about irregular hormones) and its helped a bit. You should try it. Also, my friend has acne, has for a while, and uses neutrogena products because they don't irritate skin.

i use 'velocity' from mary kay, it works soooo good. no joke, i saw results in like 3 days and it helps sooo much and it doesnt dry the skin out and the moisturizer is soo thin and it works. yup yup. so far almost all my acne went away in 2 weeks but i have to get some more cuz i share with my sis. so it kinda came back, waiting to get it again.

birth control does help rid of acne.. but it also gives a woman hips and chests.. i currently dont need the added curve and extra hormone problems it can cause.
