"What is fatigue?"  "ARMY CLOTHES!"  (These go together)

I do believe that was from Stripes.

"I PAINTED A PICTURE OF A BUTTERFLY!!!11"

And that's from Elf *shudder* Will Ferrel movies scare me.

No one answered my previous quote. "I know things about pidgeons, Lily."   It's not that hard, really! :)

^ I don't think I've never heard that quote about pidgeons, Jaz.  Sorry.

If my quote is from Stripes, then it's a coincidence, because I've never seen it.  I'll give a hint for those of you still trying...

It's a sports movie.

The butterfly quote, umm it's not Ashton Kutcher's Butterfly Effect or Richard Gere's Mothman Prophecies is it?

And c'mon you guys you put up a quote and then don't check in to see if anyone has tried to guess which film for over 2 days? Do you just not like this thread, or do you just like leaving people hanging? And why so obscure of quotes? I mean you don't have to use something like "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." Which has been in many, many movies than merely the original. Or "Soylent Green is people!" which names the film title in the quote. But how about something in the middle, such as " It's nothing personal, it's just business." or maybe a quote that is/ was popular, but almost no one remembers the film it came from, " Go ahead, make my day." More people would guess it came from the same movie that this line came from, " In all the excitement, I've forgotten if I shot 5 bullets or 6. Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do ya?"

^ Dirty Harry.

Oh, and you're right about the quote not being from The Replacements, but you've got the right sport.

Here's another hint...

It's a Disney movie.

My all-time-favorite closing scene:

Jerry: (sweetly, but exasperatedly)
Oh, you don't understand, Osgood! Eh! I'm a man.

Osgood: (totally unfazed)
Well, nobody's perfect!

Honestly I'm stunned no one has gotten this one of mine yet:

And crawling, on the planet's face, some insects, called the human race. Lost in time, and lost in space, and in meaning.
Hints:
The folks on this forum most likely to get it would probably be in the Repo thread or some of the threads back around Halloween.
The character who intones these words is called The Narrator.
These words are a lead-in to a song called "Superheroes," which is mournful and is the penultimate song of the given film.

Clue for "Every sperm is sacred":
I already mentioned that it was sung. I will add it is sung in British accents.

Clue for "The draft is white people sending black people to make war on the yellow people to defend the land they stole from the red people!"
This is from my all-time favorite film, which is based on my all-time favorite stage production. Can't really call it a play; it was more a musical series of vignettes. The subtitle of the stage show, I believe, was "a modern tribal rock opera". It was the first of its kind and is still reproduced often, including in Eugene.

I know one of those. Hair. Long beautiful hair. My family used to, well my church growing up used to sing a lot of those sings. Aquarius, Let the Sunshine, but then a lot of America was singing them too. I remember seeing someone like the Ray Coniff singers doing it.

NO! I guess I kept getting stuck on Radio Picture, and just lost whatever happened next. Besides only some theaters had the copy that had superheroes on it. Sorry, had to look it up. Duh, I knew I had seen it. I'll let other people try to guess, the virgins!

Don't know the sacred sperm one. OKay, now I do. Cheated. Been a long time since I saw that. I don't remember seeing it at all actually. Just other movies.

A church! Wow. That's a shock!
Yeah for a while I collected cheezy cover albums of Hair songs. The best was the 5th Dimension's Aquarius.
Trivia: Nell Campbell (later of Gimme a Break tv show) sang Aquarius back in the day, and Diane Keaton of Annie Hall fame was among the singers on Black Boys! (on Broadway)

Another scene-stealing, surprise-ending kind of line:
One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach, all the damn vampires.

Lost Boys, Said by the Grandpa
*applauds* *jumps up & down* *squeals*
a guy I used to date stole my vhs copy :(
still one of my all-time faves of childhood!
here's a quote from another; guess which!

I know I'm old enough to be his mother, but when the Duck laid that kiss on me last night, I swear my thighs just went up in flames! He must practice on melons or something.

Now there's one word in that quote that should totally give it away, to anyone who's ever seen the movie. Here are more clues, though:
(a) The film produced one of my favorite soundtracks; I still listen to it.
(b) All the major stars of the film, including the person who speaks these words and the person about whom they are spoken, and the two members of the other prominent pairing in the film, all ended up with major careers in TV shows and/or mini series (in addition to whatever they did in film).
and fyi, the character about whom the above quote was made was a major role model for me growing up. I still identify with that character!
I mean, who hasn't gone through a feelings rollercoaster like this (said by the character the above quote is about):
Well, that's very nice. I'm glad. Well here's... here's the point, Andie. I'm not particularly concerned with whether or not you like me, because I live to like you and... and I can't like you anymore. So... so when you're feeling real low and... and dirty, don't look to me to pump you back up 'cause... 'cause... 'cause maybe for the first time in your life I WON'T BE THERE!

remeber the thing of the game, you answer a quote then you can post a new quote,

Didn't catch that there were rules like that. It seems like it would make the thread stagnant, because no one could post something new and fun until someone cracked the prior quote?

Here's the original instructions from Patrick:
Quote
No cheating by using Google, IMDB, or Wikipedia. Just try to figure out which move the quote came from and then go ahead and give one of your own for people to guess on!

Lets start off with an easy one!

V " Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

It only says you have to *try* to figure out what movie a prior quote comes from, not that you have to be accurate, before you can post.

Should there be a time limit on how long a quote goes un-identified by others, before the poster of the quote lets folks know from whence it came?

mine still stands
"You make the Lord very nervous"

little nicky

"Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things, right now: Jack and s**t... and Jack left town."

Uh... I know I've heard that one...  I wanna say Constantine, but I'm not sure.

OMG!!!  I just remembered!  It's the Army of Darkness!  I just saw a commercial for Burn Notice, and something Bruce Campell said reminded me of this line!  A of D!

Okay, it's been a long time since I've seen this movie, so I might get this quote wrong, but I'll try my best.

"But he's not God's cat, he's my cat!  Let God get His own if He wants one!  Not mine... not mine..."

Good!  Glad to hear it.  (I'm 26, by the way)

Oh, if I recall correctly, that quote is from Interview with a Vampire, during the scene where they're watching the play, right?
