The Truth about cats and Dogs - and Mystery Men (One of my all time favorite movies)
Right, right, and makes sense to me :)
So you should've posted TWO new quotes--especially since I had to look up your new one :) (Haven't seen it.)

Quote
Sorry, I've been away - I had a knee injury and haven't been doing much
Ooh, bummer, hope you heal well.

Quote
New Quote

The only thing that separates us from the animals...is we have pornography.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone gets it ;)

Clue for "CITIZENS OF VALENCIAaaaaaaaa..."

Charleton Heston sez it, costar is Sophia Lauren, 2nd female actress is Genevieve Paige who I *think* is still alive...

LOVED "The Shoveler" in Mystery Men.

Tank Girl quote (which I did not get) reminded me of Robin vs the three-headed guy in Monty Python and the Holy Grail:
http://www.mwscomp.com/movies/grail/grail-10.htm

Excerpt:
MINSTREL: [singing]
He is brave Sir Robin, brave Sir Robin, who--
ROBIN:
Shut up! Um, n-- n-- n-- nobody, really. I'm j-- j-- j-- ju-- just, um-- just passing through.
ALL HEADS:
What do you want?
MINSTREL: [singing]
To fight and--
ROBIN:
Shut up! Um, oo, a-- nothing. Nothing, really. I, uh-- j-- j-- just-- just to, um-- just to p-- pass through, good Sir Knight.
ALL HEADS:
I'm afraid not!
ROBIN:
Ah. W-- well, actually I-- I am a Knight of the Round Table.
ALL HEADS:You're a Knight of the Round Table?
ROBIN:I am.
LEFT HEAD: In that case, I shall have to kill you.
MIDDLE HEAD:Shall I?
RIGHT HEAD:Oh, I don't think so.
MIDDLE HEAD:Well, what do I think?
LEFT HEAD: I think, kill him.
RIGHT HEAD:Oh, let's be nice to him.
LEFT HEAD:Oh, shut up.
ROBIN:Perhaps I could--
LEFT HEAD:And you. Oh, quick! Get the sword out. I want to cut his head off!
RIGHT HEAD:Oh, cut your own head off!
MIDDLE HEAD:Yes, do us all a favour!
LEFT HEAD:What?
RIGHT HEAD:Yapping on all the time.
MIDDLE HEAD:You're lucky. You're not next to him.
LEFT HEAD:What do you mean?
MIDDLE HEAD:You snore!
LEFT HEAD: Oh, I don't. Anyway, you've got bad breath.
MIDDLE HEAD:Well, it's only because you don't brush my teeth.
RIGHT HEAD:Oh, stop bitching and let's go have tea.
LEFT HEAD: Oh, all right. All right. All right. We'll kill him first and then have tea and biscuits.
MIDDLE HEAD: Yes.
RIGHT HEAD:Oh, not biscuits.
LEFT HEAD: All right. All right, not biscuits, but let's kill him anyway.
ALL HEADS: Right!
MIDDLE HEAD:He buggered off!
RIGHT HEAD: So he has. He's scarpered.

MINSTREL: [singing] Brave Sir Robin ran away,
ROBIN: No!
MINSTREL: [singing] Bravely ran away, away.
ROBIN: I didn't!
MINSTREL: [singing] When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
ROBIN: No!
MINSTREL: [singing] Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
ROBIN: I didn't!
MINSTREL: [singing] And gallantly, he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet,
ROBIN: I never did!
MINSTREL: [singing] He beat a very brave retreat,
ROBIN: All lies!
MINSTREL: [singing] Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.
ROBIN: I never!

@Rem - Just finished the movie, meh... book as usuall is way better :)

@Prinz - What's wierd is there is a 2nd verse to Brave Sir Robin Ran away, that can be found in the script or on the soundtrack.. it goes

"Packing it in, and packing it up
And Sneaking away
And buggering up
Yes, Bravely he is trowing in the sponge"

Guy, wouldn't surprise me if TG's quote was  an homage.
Anyone going to see Spamalot?
Meantime at a benefit sale for Children's Miracle Network today I got a concert tour book of Sarah Brightman (aka Blind Mag from Repo: The Genetic Opera)!
If any fan is in Eugene there's also a video of her, I would've got it but it's on VHS....

Speaking of homage ("hpwmage?") - drift on over to THIS thread for a second
and see what movie JAYBUG was referencing!

http://www.kumoricon.org/forums/index.php?topic=9276.msg385736#msg385736

Great job, Jay!

Allright - time's up on a couple of quotes:

"Citizens of Valencia," etc is from El Cid, 1961.
C. Heston bellows before a walled city and EVERYONE within hears him clearly. Including a smith who lays down his tool to listen. The scenes of the last battle are interesting to compare with LOTR battles - somehow having 2,000 real actors on the ground looks different form CGI hordes.

Okay, speaking of 'on the ground,' here's a TV SHOW QUOTE / Scene"

A: "Yes, your ships are very impressive in space, or in the air. But they are on the ground now, {B}."
B: "So? They can sense an approaching ship from miles away! So what are you going to do, {A}? Blow up the island?"
A: "Actually..." [produces remote detonator from his jacket] "Now that you mention it..."
B: Nooo!!

Cut scene: *KABOOOM*

And from Way, back, since we were on about  Holy Grail just recently,
"This new Learning amazes me Sir Bedevire," etc, also came from Holy Grail.

NEW Movie Quote: "O Lord, without consulting with Thee, we have sent thy way some souls whose evil ways passeth all understanding. We ask Thee humbly to receive them... whether you want them or not! Amen. "

Too bad you can't write Peter Jurasik's accent. My good, good friend Mr. Garibaldi! I have felt like calling up the Jerry Doyle show, just to say that to him in the Cetauri accent. I wonder if that guy doing Netflix ads on the radio is one of the actors who played a Centauri?

Hey, Gang! I'm out of town visiting my father and my cousin and other family for a bit.
My cousin is a ferociously prolific movie quote mavin - Indulge us with a few from him:

1) "Gentlemen, please - there is NO fighting in the WAR ROOM!"

2) "Is someone here not having a good time?" and "No, don't tug on that, you don't
     know what it's attached to."

3) "I was in Kansas once, they have sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-a-bitches."
and "There's nothing like a nice piece of hickory."

4) "If I show up at your door, chances are you did something to bring me there."

Be back next week! Have a good weekend, everyone!

about the door....I'm thinking it has to be either Death speaking, or more likely, a hit man.

I knew the Strangelove.

The don't tug one...sounds like it could be Mel Brooks' style of humor.

Um, it's my turn to give a quote, and I have no idea about that quote you just gave.

"Now rise." (Character rises)  "Not like a horse."
and from the same movie...
"Stay out of my room. Your fingers smell. I can't have you touching my things."

Quote:
Person A: But I don't want to go among mad people.
Person B: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
Person A: How do you know I'm mad?
Person B: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.
Person A: And how do you know that you're mad?
Person B: To begin with, a dog's not mad. You grant that?
Person A: I suppose so,
Person B: Well, then, you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.

Haha, figure that out. xD

A twinge at the small of your back as the poison seizes your nervous system...DO NOT MOVE THAT! Your muscles freeze, you can't breathe, you spasm so hard you break your own back and spit your guts out. But that's after your skin melts off.

Rent

"In the world I see -- you're stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You will wear leather clothes that last you the rest of your life. You will climb the wrist thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. You will see tiny figures pounding corn and laying-strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of the ruins of a superhighway"

Here's one for the weirdos...

"Pulp horror novels. They're all pretty familiar. They all seem to have the same plot. Slimy things in the dark, people go mad...they turn into monsters. The funny thing is that they're kind of better written...than you'd expect. They sort of get to you in a way."

It's gotta be "In the Mouth of Madness"! I'm pretty darn sure that it is...a *very* creepy film, inspired by Lovecraft. Well here's something for you, then--not a quote, but a head's up. My aunt makes her living being an extra / bit player in films. She was recently in Pickman's Muse, which is adapted from H. P. Lovecraft's "Haunter of the Dark." And I befriended the director, he sent me a copy of the unreleased DVD. He authorized me not only to watch it for myself, but to show it to Jaki, and if she thinks it's good enough, folks who come pick up their badges early on con-Friday might be able to watch it at a special little free screening! Then I'm going to show it to my friend who's the long-time projectionist at the Bijou, where it might get to screen around Samhain (Hallowe'en). Woot! (Actually I find Lovecraft films waaay creepy. But I'm glad to help my aunt :) .)

P.S. to dear Eve: I guess that makes us the weirdos, eh? Er, but we knew that :0

Okay this gets even weirder...life imitating art imitating life imitating art...As soon as I finished posting I went to watch Supernatural...and it's the ep "The Monster At the End of This Book" (title from my favorite Muppet book, about Grover, btw). About a guy who draws comics of Sam & Dean & thinks he's a god bringing them to life. Sound familiar?
