Yay, I am Uber-Amazing. ^_^ *pokes Cloud back* You aren't too shabby yourself, lol

And you totally could summon Vincent, heh. It wouldn't even have to just be Turk V, you could do regular V since Hojo made him that way.

Technically....Hojo could even summon Sephiroth. He is his daddy-o after all, heh

So I just finished playing through VII. It was really helpful in getting me reacquainted with the style and battles. Now the MB can be even better!

Yeah, I am glad I never lost my copy. It is nice to go back and revisit it every few years. Next: Finish VIII with Kahlan and then do IX!

I wish I had a copy of VII to play. That way I could figure out what spells I can use, i'm pretty sure that the spells [names and effects] are different in VII then they are in III, VIIII, X-2, and XII.

I need to prepare a list of spells.. I should also start working on my Mother box soon too huh?

Wouldn't hurt to get a start on the box. Can never do it too soon, heh.

And what character are you thinking about? I could help you with spells if I know what to look for.

Okay, lol. Weell, I guess it doesn't matter, if you plan to cosplay a party member (because they all share materia and thus could do the same things).

If you get an idea what direction you want to go in, I can help you out.

Yep, Repo! is a fantastic film. Best of the year (even though the critics called it the official worst movie of 2008/9).

Have fun with that, heh.

And I know what you mean about "Chromaggia". I've had plans to do a metal cover of that song for a while now, just have never done it cause I can't play anything but the bass. I'd love to get some black metal vocals to that one, though.

But this is way off topic, so lessee....You were talking about FFVII characters and spells, right? Or were you referring to FF games in general? I tend to forget not everyone is always talking about VII, lol

From VII, OR IX, I kinda wanna do Zidane or Garnet, I could do a red dress version of Garnet since I don't have a white dress... But it's a stretch, I havent worn the dress in two years so i don't know if it fits.. and I would love to find and FF character that uses Katana's since I have two of them.. Besides Katana Turk.

I love the song, it would be amazing to hear a metal version of it.

Well, Katanas...Cloud has a katana-like sword in VII. But that's about it. Steiner could use one, but it would be a stretch.

And as far as spells go, in IX you'll be much more limited because that game operates on a class system, meaning everyone can only do what their class allows them to (I'm sure you know all this already, heh). So the only spells in the game are black magic (Vivi), white magic (Garnet, Eiko), blue magic (Quina), and then various character skills. VII is much more loose on the spell front.

I know.. I don't have the materials to make steiner.. And Nikki's already doing Cloud right? or was she changing to Kuja? I think I might do a red version of Garnet since it's easy.. It just sucks that she isn't able to use other magic besides white. Though i could be a healer mostly and attack when needed. That's how I ended up defeating the game.. Oh! I almost forgot about the Eidolons [I think that's how you spell it.] and her summoning ability.

Yeah, Garnet summons Eidolons, can heal, and physically attack with rackets or staffs. I would just give you the heads up that you do run the risk of not getting noticed since Garnet doesn't wear a red dress in the game, to my knowledge.

You could always make the cloak she wears at the beginning of the game, when she is escaping Alexandria. That would be cute. http://www.kackreiz.net/wp-content/uploads/ff/9garnet.jpg

But yeah, she does have a few eidolons that you could tinker around with: Ramuh, Shiva, Ifrit, Atomos, Odin, Leviathan, Bahamut, and Ark.

Yeah, the cloak is cute, maybe i'll make that and have like a staff or lacross racket or something like that.. I'll have to go back into the game and see what Eidolons I had gotten for her. I think i didn't get all of them for her.. I know I did for Eiko. Maybe make a Eidolon plushie to carry around? but i'd have to buy stuffing and fabric..

It'd be a hard one to make, that's for sure. It was just a massive airship-type thing, I think. My personal preference would go for Atomos. I loved that one. And it would be pretty easy probably. Round orb with spikes and a big mouth, heh.

yeah, probably. Turns out Garnet DOES have all the Eidolons. I'm checking Eiko if she's got all them too... yup all four of 'em. I didn't think I had been so through with my game, all of them have the best weapons and spell and such. i'm making a list of Garnets spells and such so i won't forget to do it later.

I wouldn't doubt it. They all have a charateristic from III Zidane [theif/warrior] Steiner [Knight] Vivi [black mage obviously] Garnet [evoker/white mage] Eiko [evoker/geomanger] Kudja[[the red haired dude]] [ranger/red mage] Elphina[[the rat lady]] [ranger] and the guy with the big tongue named him bridget[[dunno why]] [no class]

Well, that's all because IX is a return to the class system common to old school RPG's. Each party member is a different class, meaning a different role or type of character.

Mystic Knight (Steiner)
White Mage/Summoner (Garnet, Eiko)
Thief (Zidane)
Dragoon (Freya)
Blue Mage (Quina)
Black Mage (Vivi)
Monk (Amarant)

Yeah, I still love the game despite the class system. I noticed that it didn't stay for long. in 12 there's no classes X-2 i think as well..

No, there has been no class system since IX (not counting XI, because that's an MMORPG and class system is deep in that type of game). I actually really like the class system; I like the order and structure it gives. Also, the class systems are generally tied to the more medieval/"old school" RPG's (which I really like) and are very different than the futuristic RPG's (like VII and VIII). I like both styles, but I would like to see the class system return in a future game (maybe Agito?).

I'm getting off-track though, heh. I need to go back and edit the first post so it says you're cosplaying Garnet now.

So I was thinking for Atomos putting a little wire inside of it so I can make the mouth open and close. Or make it into a sorta puppet type thing. But I still like the idea of it perched on my shoulder. And I'm half assing Garnet, I'm just making the cloak. It's cheaper that way XD.

Cool, go, Nikki! ^_^

And that sounds pretty awesome, Konan. I can't wait to see Atomos! (I'll try not to steal it, but I make no promises, lol).

And now that I think about it, I think you were right about X-2. X-2 did operate on a class system, it just was much more polished and subtle than the other games. Also, there were a lot of more obscure classes, not just the typical ones you see in other games. It definitely was a class system, though. Thief, Gunner, Alchemist, Dark Knight, Samurai - Good stuff.

If you need any help, just ask.
So, how many Garnets and Zidanes are gonna be in the battle? XD

It seems like there was a lot more then there was originally going to be. I think I could have gotten the ffIX ball rolling :P
