If you want your cosplay to stand out, I reccomend not doing anything from a really popular anime like Bleach or Deathnote. Tim and I did Light and L last year, and so did half of the convention. We lucked out on our second cosplay- Shuichi and Yuki from Gravitation. Still a popular anime, but not so comon a cosplay that you get lost in the crowds.

Okay. I finally decided to get some input from my fellow con-goers! ^^
As of now, I have my cosplay for K-Con 09, but I would like some opinions on who people think I should be in the following years or perhaps just for fun.

Description:
To start things off, here is a picture of me (follow link):

Sorry that it isn't the best for height-wise. I am 4'11" and weigh approximately 120 pounds (mainly muscle in quads and calfs). I have a more pale complexion in the winter, but in summer I tend to darken up pretty quickly. My hair lightens more in the sun, so by the time of Kumoricon it will be light brown; Sakuracon it would be a darker brown, more than the picture. I have a full figure which are usually helpful with the older girl characters; but that does not cross out cross-dressing.


Anime/Manga/Games (Characters and Likes):
I really don't know an encyclopedia of anime like some, but for the ones I do know I am quite fond of. Some of my favorite anime/manga include (trying to throw as many possibilities out there as possible xD):
-Pokemon  -InuYasha  -Shaman King  -Digimon  -Yu-Gi-Oh!  -Rurouni Kenshin  -K-ON!  -Maria + Holic  -Card Captor Sakura (or anything by CLAMP)  -Instant Teen  -Pita-Ten  -OHSHC  -Lovely Complex  -Beauty Pop  -Fushigi Yugi  -Yotsuba&!  -Fruits Basket

And for video games:
-all of the Pokemon version games (especially Crystal)  -Golden Sun/GS2  -Super Mario 64   -LoZ: Ocarana of Time   -DDR  -Guitar Hero

I have cosplayed before as the following:
-Kagome (InuYasha)  -Anna (Shaman King)  -Mii (Popotan)  -Kasumi/Misty (Pokemon-anime)*  -Haruka/May (Pokemon-anime)*
(Ones with * symbolize I did those as more Halloween costumes when I was younger.)

As far as characters go, I basically like all of them out of everything I mentioned. I am also for animal-like characters such as Kirara, Pokemon, Digimon, Yoshi, and Djinni.


Willingness:
- I am willing to do basically any character whose outfit is not more complicated than, say, Princess Peach.
- I am willing to sew, but not every part of the costume; no more than 3/4 (I like to find things that work and then sew to add details or use a pattern.)
- I am willing to crossplay.
- I am willing to do any wig in any color- I love styling them!
- I am willing to spend up to a price range of about fifty dollars per costume, depending on how detailed the costume is.
- I am CERTAINLY willing to give any costume someone suggests consideration.


Other:
- I am quite shy at times, but when role-playing or cosplaying I can act as crazy/loud as needed.
- I am really partial to Pokemon, so if you see any resemblance to characters I might have missed, please let me know!
- I might take it offensively if everyone just suggests short people, because for me, height does not matter as long as you act like the character. ><
- I really just love trying to cosplays.

Ok, here's a question.
My friend had this brilliant idea where she'd go to con, with 3 different cosplays, all named Yuki. Here's the catch, we can only think of two (Yuki Nagato, and Yuki from Vampire Knight). She is refusing to be Yuki from Fruits Baskets (because she thinks he's a weirdo).
Any other Yukis?

And you don't have to cut/color your hair, just find a wig. That way you can manipulate it without cutting or coloring.

You are one of those lucky people who could probably pull off a whole lot of characters. Based on your picture, that's what I can tell anyway. As was mentioned, looks like you could definitely do Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, or Shinobu from Ninin Ga Shinobu-Den (please do it! I'd love to see it!) ^_^

There's plenty you could do, but these are just a few. Because your appearance is so easily fit to any character, I'd say it is helpful to know what you like, animes/games/manga, etc.

It's inexpensive (I think, if you could get a friend to help you sew, or sew for you. Don't quote me on it though), fun (RANGIKU IS AWESOME! You gotta love her), and I think you could so pull her off!

QUESTION!
I've recently started watching code geass, and I really like C2 (although Nunnally is awesome). I was thinking that I might not want to be Sai anymore! I was also thinking that I could probably pull her off (her being C2). Her costume is about as covery, and baggy as sai's and for both I'd need a long colored wig. I think that I could make both of them with about the same amount of effort.
So, which one you wanna see from me?
Fujiwara no Sai (Hikaru no Go) or C2 (Code Geass)?

Tsunade from Naruto is relatively easy (I've cosplayed her before), and with your blonde hair I think you look like her. You might need to grow it out a wee bit more, and cut the front a little shorter, but if you don't want to do that, you can get pin in extendtions, and leave your shorter hair as the bangish things (that's what I did, but I have really short blonde hair). If you want to wear your glasses then for Tsuande that'd be ok, because she might end up needing reading glasses at least. Plus you could just take them off for pictures.

If you're willing to get a wig and sew some medium difficult costumes, than I have more, but that's only if you are.

Cornelia Li Brittania from Code Geass seems like a great cosplay for you.



The costume might be a little difficult to make, but it seems like in the end it would be a great agile cosplay that you could use for multiple things besides just this con.

Also, Erica, the grass gym leader from Pokemon seems like a good cosplay.
It seems like one that people would rarely do, and it also seems recognizable as long as you had a gloom plush on you at all times.

I couldn't find a good picture of her costume from the anime, but if you need it, I have the VHS of those episodes of Pokemon. I could lend them to you at a meet-up, and get them back around con.

I like: Bizarre makeup, ghastly wounds, anything that lets me show off my haunted house makeup skills. I always like to try new prosthetics, too. Grisliness not required, though.
Limits: I will not do bizarre haircolors. >: They just don't work on me. Nothing strapless or canyon-esque cleavage, either. And I have trouble putting in contacts (though I suppose I'd be willing to try for the sake of a good costume).
Also: First-time cosplayer, not sure what I'm getting into. XD A friend is helping me with my current project, and I ordered a Victorian lolita outfit, but I don't have a lot of the skills required to make really ornate costumes.

Anime/Manga/Games: Pretty much any, I like trying new things.
Considering cosplaying as: Haruhi Fujioka(OHHC), Tatsuki (Bleach), Ruby Moon(Cardcaptor Sakura), Amulet Spade(Shugo Chara), and waaaay more.
I Do/Do not: I don't mind wigs, I actually plan on buying quite a few, and any colors are good. Not a huge fan of pink, blonde or orange though. I would rather not have skimpy outfits though, I'm pretty modest.
Budget: Under $150 for sure but I'd like it to be under $100 if possible.
