i'm short (just under 5'6) and male. lean build, very pale but can darken my skin pretty well with makeup. i have gray/green eyes.

i do wigs and contacts and all that jazz. i don't crossplay, but i'm cool with flashy makeup.

EveofAbyss - your Barrett was sweet. Your musculature and skintone makes me think of Sig Curtis (pic) from Full Metal Alchemist, though he isn't a well-known or flashily designed character. If you had an Izumi with you, though...  You could always try Armstrong, too, if you like sparkles.

Syaoran_Sakura.Kinomoto - It's the influence of the bandana, but the first thing that came to mind was the main hero from Dragon Warrior Quest VIII. (pic)

Oooh, Sig Curtis. That's a great suggestion! I don't need flashy cosplay, and I in fact like doing obscure behind-the-scenes characters. Not to mention, my wife could easily pull off an Izumi, so we could even do a couples cosplay with them. Thanks for the suggestion (and compliments on my Barret)!

I like a variety of stuff and even things I haven't heard of, I'm willing to check out so don't worry about specific anime/manga/show/etc.

I'm planning on doing Hinaichigo from Rozen Maiden already but I like having different cosplays for each day.

I will be buying or piecing together the outfit because I don't know how to sew yet.  I have no problem wearing wigs.  I can't wear contacts.  My eye color varies from blue, gray and green.  I am 5'4".  Cost isn't an issue.  (I am good at shopping around)  I don't want to change my skin color.  Make-up is fine.  Gender doesn't matter.

Oooo!  She is a possibility.  I can see how Hinaichigo reminded you of Lizzy.  I'm trying for variety so I might try something else but certainly a character to keep in mind.

I eventually plan to go as Schala from Chrono Trigger.  I don't think it will be this time.  I actually plan to learn how to sew and may attempt making the outfit.  She is my all time favorite game character.

I don't have red eyes and I can't wear contacts for Yuuko.  I can photoshop my eyes in images but at a convention, I can't do that.

^contacts aren't necessary to cosplay. It does complete a costume, but I don't think they're needed. Especially if you can't wear them.

Yeah, I never wear contacts either. I tried once, and not only did it take me forever to get them in, but I scratched my cornea and my eye doctor was not happy. I figure my eyes are ambiguous enough in color (gray) to pass for most anything.

It's nice if you're nuts about accuracy, and they can make a cosplay really cool, but a lot of cosplayers don't bother with 'em.

Hey guys! This will be my first time at Kumoricon (I'm a teen) and I really want to cosplay, but I'm not sure as who...

Description: I have curly (I'm sure I could straighten it) red orange hair that goes to my chin (about- when it's staight, it's about to my shoulders). Right now, it's in a bob-like hairstyle. My eyes are green-blue and I am 5' 5" at the moment (I might grow over the summer), and have a pretty slender body. BTW I'm a girl haha!

Manga/Anime: My favorite manga series are Death Note, Fruits Basket, Bleach, Vampire Knight, Chibi Vampire, Hetalia, and Shaman King, but I have read/watched many other series. (BTW: If you suggest a character I don't know, I am a very fast reader, so I could probably finish the series during the summer).

Characters I was considering: I don't really like wigs, so someone who has red hair, or someone where hair color doesn't really matter. I can also put my hair up in a hat if that's easier for a short haired character... I was considering Kisa from Fruits Basket, but I want to find other ideas before I make a desision. I would also be fine with characters from movies (again- if I haven't seen it, then I can watch it during the summer).

What I am willing to do: I am willing to be a female version of a guy character, but not wear a wig. I would like to put together a costume/outfit, or buy one, because I can't make costumes. I don't want to wear eyecolor contacts, though, and I'd prefer to keep makeup low. Also, if I buy a costume, it can't be too expensive, so let's say my budget for costumes is $50-.

Hi, there!
I'm 5 feet, and am 14 years old. So, I'm pretty short and have a skinny figure; an extremely tall character or a curvy one would be something I'd do the least likely, obviously. And I'm a girl if you hadn't noticed. >_< I have a light brown skin tone with black/dark brown hair.
For Kumoricon this year, I plan to wear my female Ciel cosplay - the one in my profile picture - so that's set.
And I guess China from Hetalia. But more suggestions would be nice for this convention and future ones as well.
My mom does the sewing, so we can hand-make it. Wigs are fine, plus I'm willing to spend a good amount of money if it's needed, and any character - boy or girl - is good as long as they, well, match me. xD I was contemplating Seychelles from Hetalia, since I can easily do the hairstyle and have the right skin tone, but I'm still thinking about it.

Of course, that depends on how much skin you are comfortable with showing - she doesn't wear much. :S
Along that same line, Urd from Oh My Goddess is also nicely tanned (pic), but even with a variety of outfits, tends to dress sexy. There is an arc where she's a kid (and short), however. (pic)

Hey guys, I'm posting on behalf of my boyfriend. Here's some pics:

I can't believe I'm saying this, but you look like you would make a good Harry Potter, or even young Tom Riddle if you're tall. It's just the first thing that came to mind, though. You could also reuse your wig and contacts if you were to be Shou from Uta No Prince. It's a lesser known anime, but if you're into vocaloid I bet you'd like it if you haven't seen it already. So if you haven't seen it, watch it!

These pictures aren't going to be very good because I'm not a good picture pilot. The last one is just so you can see my body type (I'm the one on the left). I'm pretty average-sized. You can't tell in the picture but my boobs are pretty big too, so I'm cut out to cosplay as well-endowed characters. I'm 5' 5" but I can wear heels if the character wears heels, pale skin but I could do some tanning, um, I don't want to crossplay. Genderbending, maybe. I can wear a wig or contacts or paint my skin, whatever, as long as it's a character I could pull off with the way my face and body look.
