"No Face" from Spirited Away help!
« on: March 19, 2009, 07:46:34 pm »
Okay, I'm really wanting to go as "No Face" from "Spirited Away" for both Anime Expo, and Kumoricon later this year, but I have no idea what to do to make a good No Face costume. I mean, it looks easy enough, but I'm totally clueless. Does anyone know where I could go to find out how to make this costume? If any of you have any suggestions about websites, or if you have some info from previous experience, please help me out

Ps. I already tried Cosplay.com, and I got nothing.

basically take some black fabric, fit it so it goes over your whole body with a hole for you face. you might want to do some sewing to make huge sleeves and what not.

the mask can be made out of foam, don't forget to add some sort of way to talk, breathe and see. you'll need black gloves as well. I'm not really saying how to make it but what will be needed for the most part, and this is what I see with all other no faces.

on a side note to be an awesome no face cosplay hand out candy. :3

I was going to suggest a paper mache mask, but foam does sound nice...

I've found quit a lot of cosplayers for No Face, but (not to be rude to any of the cosplayers) they're not all that good. But just to give you some ideas:

A lot of them seemed to use a pole that they held to make it look like they were taller.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of images of noface on the internet now, and now a whole lot of them look really good. I'm starting to get some ideas, but it's still in the embryonic stage. I'm about 6' 2", so all I need is to make something that will make me just a foot taller, and I'll be good... Any ideas about what material I should use for the black cloak, or the mask?
