Okay, I've been looking around for awhile for this but I'm stumped. It's just really hard, for me, to find a wig of this length in the right color. Any suggestions guys? Plus I'd need a little help on how you'd think I should style it once I get it.

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc274/g1u3_5t1ck/elemental%20gelade/Ren.jpg

Alright so, just bringing that back up so the picture is easier to find, I think I have a wig that'll work but I just wanted to check and see what others think. Anyway, this any good?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Heat-Resistant-Cobalt-Blue-Long-Cosplay-Party-Wig-7412B_W0QQitemZ160367386665QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_MWA_Wigs_Extensions?hash=item2556a42029

I think it's too blue for the character.

So next year, I wanted to pull Rikku from FFX out again. But my only problem is that my hair is too short to stick into her ponytail. Would it be possible to use clip on extentions on one of my stubby ponytails to make it longer? here is a pic of her hair...

Most people's spike hair is their natural hair.
A bunch of people who cosplay spike don't do so very well, or elaborately.
So, what I would do for the wig is get a black wig, and rough it up a bit. Get some spray, and fix it so it looks like his hair.
If you really REALLY feel the necessity to tint it green (I don't think it's green enough to have to do that, but whatever floats your boat) I'd use the crap-o-la spray junk. It'll tint it enough so it wont look REALLY green, but it'll work to make you happy.

That's great Nikki <3

I agree with the green tint. not really my thing. I firmly believe the green tint was just to show how "roughed up" it was.

Hey all~

My long curly silver wig is starting to get rather tangled (stupid wind ;-;), and I want to get it to be right again.

reference

Do you think if I comb it out and then douse it in water it should go back to the original shape? I don't want to take out the curls... Aha. :'D

I'm having frizz/tangle issues with a long wig too, I think I'll try the motions oil sheen spray- or whatever it's called.

Silicone spray ftw.

You spray the tangle and your wig brush/comb, and then you brush it out. ^^

alright. for once i am getting ready for K-con way before last minute. I have decided to be sabata this year (hooray for awesome vampires before twilight series!) and his hair might prove difficult. this year i have a far larger budget then last. last year i had 40 bucks plus extra odds and ends for sasori (apparently i like characters starting with "SA") unfortunatly, barely anyone cosplays as sabata since the game series he is from isn't that well known. i found one guy with a lot of pictures, but his cosplay wasn't as i imagined. i need some help getting a wig that would be able to hold it's shape and color. (if it could be purple that would be better, still can't find one yet) but i need something to hold its shape. it would stick out in the back a bit, and the two parted things  of hair in the front. (just look at my avatar)

So, is the front part with the red also part of his hair, or is that a bandanna or something? Because a longer wig in purple might just do the trick for the spiked bit in the back and the tail-lookin' things in the front.

I'm on a pretty tight budget this year O.O
Soooo, should i buy the professional wig this year ($40.00)?

Or get the cheap one and then just style it ($15.00)?
Last year i got the cheap one, and the styling went horrible.
It came out ugly O.O ughhh.... nightmares

@ agpgirl: a $15 wig will give you $15 results. A $40 wig will give you $40 results. Personally, I say wait until Cosplaywig on eBay restocks, and see if they stock an Anya wig. I think they price theirs at around $35, maybe $33 last time I checked. Probably less since it's a smaller wig. Take a look at that one, and if you like it then by all means spend your money there on an pre-styled wig that will probably cost less with shipping than the $40 one you posted would cost with shipping.

I think their color of the wig matches Anya's hair a bit better anyway.

@ meep: a Cosworx Cher 951 might work in Henna Red.

The Ivy most definitely does not have the kind of volume you're looking for. It's a rather light, thin wig. It has good coverage hair-wise, but not the sheer amount of hair you might otherwise need.

My ivy's pretty volumous but it's not as long as I thought it'd be- it goes to my waist, I think.

Has anyone worked with a Scruffy L before? I'm thinking about getting one but I'm not sure if it'd be poofy enough for the character.

How do I make a curly wig wavy, without totally straightening it?  I just want to get some of the curls less...organized, to make a bit more of a messy, wavy look.  And just taking a hairdryer to it seems to just tangle it.  For reference, it's the "Lanar" from Cosworx, and the tag says "eleora." Anyways, all the straigtening tutorials I've seen have just shown TOTALLY 100% FLAT LIFELESS LOOKING HAIR in the after pictures, so I'm intimidated to do any styling, plus I've never styled a wig before.  I would post a picture reference, but since there's so little official art for the character in question I have a lot of room for interpretation.

Thanks for the help!  Also, a link to the Lanar: http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=16408&cat=2447&page=1

You would actually want to go over it with a hair straightener set to the lowest heat it can get to without turning it off. Not only that, but you'll want to do it fast, and as many times as you want until you get it looking like you want. I learned this on one of my own wigs, so I can assure you that it does in fact achieve the desired result.

I have a wig (need to find camera in order to take pic) its the perfect color but the bangs are too long for my character. The thing is, I have no idea how to cut them... or wear to cut them. I could really use some help with this. I need the bangs to be the same as my avi.. I is doing Honey senpai.

thats the wig.... it came out blonder in real life.

So, we all hate long wigs, right?

Right.

My Lenalee wig is suffering so much. I tried combing it out, but it just ruins the fibers and makes the wig frizzy. My detangler isn't working on this wig either. The more I seem to brush it, the more it seems to tangle. D: Is there a good method of brushing out a wig without ruining the fibers?

I spray my long wigs with Mane n Tail detangler as I comb them slowly from the bottom up. It works pretty well but I don't think there's such a thing as a long wig being completely 100% tangle free :D

Edit: I've got a question too.

Anyone know how I can style Nayuki's pointy bang things into my wig? I'm thinking maybe folding two dense paper triangle things and hot gluing wig fibers to them, then clipping them to the wig or something but second opinions would be appreciated.

So I found an easy way to hid wefts on a wig that doesn't involve sewing. For example I need to do four pony tails for Temari and what I did was took some extensions I have and folded them over on top of each other and glued them like that. Then glued the extensions to the wig so now I can separate the two extensions at the middle and nothing shows :3

I'll post pictures of it once I am done :P

I would say do it the same way you did to begin with. Hair spray them back, no need to wash it completely.
