Warriors Orochi 2
« on: April 06, 2009, 12:15:43 am »
Anyone interested in a Warriors Orochi 2 tournament for K-Con 2009? Because I can certainly support one if anyone is interested. I can provide the game, system, and two controllers along with everyone unlocked.

I'd say Soul Calibur meets Naruto of sorts.

Just a bit of gameplay for the VS Mode for this tournament.

For those who don't know. This will be the PS2 Version of the game. Not the 360.

Square is your normal attack.
Triangle is your charged attack
Circle is your Musou Attack (Which is the yellow bar underneath your Health bar which is green. Only when it is full can you use your Musou Attack. You can press Circle to help charge it. But doing damage to your opponet helps too. Also note that you cannot move or attack when you charging the Musou)
X is to jump. You can also do charged attacks and normal attacks in mid-air

L1 is to guard. Note that so charged attacks can break your guard.
R1 is your special attack. Note that all special attacks are not all same. It depends on the character you are using.

I'll see what I can do for Rules and what not for this tournament. I'm pretty sure I'm excluding some characters.

PM Griffion about it.  It wouldn't be able to go on the schedule or in the programming guide or anything, but it wouldn't be the only tournament running off the schedule.  But yes, it would definitely be a good idea to let him know. :P

If I can, I'll join, np... I love playing this version, even tho LuBu was toned down quite a bit... Poor guy from Dynasty Warriors who always got it in the face by LuBu, he never stood a chance.

I love Warriors Orochi 2. I thoroughly enjoy the game, and I can't wait for the Warriors Orochi X release for PS3.

Anyway.. I dunno about a tournement, but I'd love to play some musou/free mode stages.

I just wish we could create our own warriors in this game, because I think that would be awesome, choose between japan or china, customize them like what we had in Dynasty Warriors 4, and be able to choose between different classes and weapons.

I think it would be cool to have a create-a-warrior system, for the potentially awesome clothing combinations.. but outside of that, I see no point in that in Warriors Orochi, simply because like in DW4, chances are all the movesets would be the movesets of existing characters, but unlike DW4, Warriors Orochi 2 has Fu Xi, Nu Wa, and others, that DW4 didn't have.. which they used the CAW system to give players the ability to use Fu Xi and Nu Wa.

I was just recomending DW4 because of how much you can customize, to where you chose the face, the hair, the top, the bottom, and the shoes, than you chose the weapon they used... The whole combat system would probably be based off the type of weapon they'd use, like for instance, if you chose to equip your person with a regular katana, you could wield it like either Mitsuhide Akechi or Ranmaru Mori, and that would be the fighting style... and do to how many different type's of people there are, there are many choices to choose from, which would make the game even funner...

You could also choose the arm plating/armor as well.

And yeah.. but when it comes down to it, it's still the exact same thing, except you choose a weapon, then the moveset, instead of just choosing the moveset.

But actually, it'd be cool if they added like 4-8 different generic officer movesets too, and maybe 2-4 unique movesets with unique moves. Something new and whatnot.

But if it does ever happen, it won't happen until WO3.

ya, but the reason it would be better is because your playing with your own character, someone you designed and created... Someone you chose the weapon for instead of having to play as one of the characters they created, and that's why I enjoyed Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors, even tho Samurai Warriors took some of that away and didn't give us that much to customize on, which sucked.

True.. but it's not really all that original, since when it comes down to it, you still only got like 10 main articles of clothing, and like 6-8 boots and gloves.

Maybe if it was in-depth like the Saint's Row 2 customization, where you can adjust height, color, facial features, walk style, fighting style, ect.. but when it's just 10 or less pre-determined faces and clothing, it's not all that impressive.

I mean, I liked the CAW system from DW5 Empires and XL alot more than the DW4 system, but it was still just limited to a bunch of pre-determined clothing. And they definitely need more than like 3 different voices per gender.
