Cosmetic Contacts

Okay guys, I have a lot to ask about these and I apologize if this is the wrong place or something.  I checked search and the last contacts thread was very informative but it was over 120 days old so I figured I'd just make a new one. 

That said, I'm planning on buying some cat eye contacts for my cosplay this year (Luna in her human form - I know she doesn't actually have cat eyes but I think it would look cool!)  I wear glasses only when I'm reading or am at the computer, and I've never worn contacts before.  Will my vision be different if when they are put in?

Also, I'd love to know if anyone else is planning on buying contacts for the Kumoricon or specifically for cosplay? I appreciate your responses!

as far as contacts i need to order a pair of blue ones for most of my cosplays x_x

I have a pair of blue ones for my Kairi cosplay. I went through my eye doctor because if I needed a prescription my insurance would cover them. As for party contacts, I wouldn't know much except you won't see much different if you make sure your prescription is right. It'll be like looking through glasses that don't hurt (as bad) if you get hit in the face with a dodgeball.

That's my opinion at least.

Your vision won't change if you don't wear glasses or contacts on a normal basis. I wear them for my Cosplays and they work just fine.

@Sugar: Yeah, I was the same way at first. I'm only a half off on each eye, which I found out because I went and got an eye exam. That's the easiest way to learn your prescription. And once you get used to putting them in they're not that intimidating anymore.

I'm down to two tries to get them in! 8D

xD make an apoitnment with your eye doctor, really its not so bad, theres nothing painful and its a good place to get the right contacts, im getting mine through my doc because I got a really weird persecription (my eyes are uneaven)

honestly putting contacts in the first time is really hard so it took some practice

but after you do it twice then its easy as pie. seriosly.

i put my in in one try usualy.

They are expensive but some aren't that expensive !

I have a feeling that eventually I'll have to cosplay one of the new Crow members from D.Gray-Man, and when I do I'll have to get yellow cat-eye sclera contacts among other things.

I don't fear contacts, though. I poke my eyes all the time.

Oh god... I remember the first time my friend Britt tried to teach me how to put on eye liner... I stabbed myself in the eye and ended up making her do it, but then I kept blinking... Now it's a second nature kind of thing.

Same thing with contacts. You just have to get comfortable with them, you know?

I wanna do contacts, but can't contacts from a doctor get really expensive? Plus I have no medical so that would cost me more. I heard that all sales of contacts in america have to have a prescription, even online.

I need some blue contacts, I had to throw mine out just a bit ago. v.v; (They were all old.)

I really like color contacts. =3 They add a great accent to not only cosplay costumes, but even regular outfits in general. ^_^
I think the best ones I have are my red ones. =] I've had them for a while, actually... and they're still really good! ^.^
I like reusable ones the best... and I'd recommend reusable ones to people who are avid cosplayers, being one myself. ^_^
