Oh, okay thanks a lot! I'm suspecting some people went to IrukaSensei's campout afterwards?

From what I heard, I'd assume that to be so.

Oh gawsh, I had so much fun yesterday! X3 I loved getting to hang out with everyone, even though we ended up in three seperate groups. ='D

My legs still hurt a little from climbing everywhere. I need to stop being so out of shape. XD

Same here ! Loved it ! We need to do it again :D

Yeah, we should totally hang out sometime~ : D Burnt as in sunburnt? I hate being sunburnt. DX Put some aloe on it~

@Saaaam~ It's spelt Britany, and I don't really care how many y's you put on the end, it's all good. : D I hardly exercise, ever. DX It's the curse of being home-schooled, I guess. It was fun doing that jumping shot, though! ='D Rest your legs for a couple days and you'll feel better~ X3

Okay, thanks for the spelling correction!

I haven't exercised in a couple weeks and now I feel bad, haha~ It was fun doing the jumping shot with you too! When I was holding your hand, I kept thinking of that "N.Italy can't touch each other, that's masturbation!" LOL. My bum also hurts a bit from the teeter-tottering, but oh well xD

If you do it again things should be a bit more organized. When we were actually at the zoo a few people, myself included, felt really rushed since we kept being told to keep moving when we were looking at the animals. Plus when people wanted to split off we couldn't since we knew we'd probably never meet up again. That's just my opinion though.

I agree with my good friend here, though I didn't care too much about the group splitting. A LOT of people showed up. I would've expected it to be somewhat difficult to manage. I did things at my own pace with my own friends.

The thing I didn't like was the loud and obnoxious singing at some points (I think I heard a song referencing homosexuals and a song about President Obama. While I wasn't offended by the content of those songs, we were in a public place with normal people around and we could've easily been kicked out for that.)

-cough cough same here cough-
It was very rude to sing about our president
and I'm pretty sure we would have gotten kicked
out if it was louder and if that security guard
was there watching them sing...
so many people..so loud.
and some of us didn't want to connect with other
cosplayers. D:

Yeah, the singing was really impolite and somewhat disgraceful to cosplayers in general. If we want people to accept us in public as normal people while we're wearing cosplay then we need to act like it. Sure we can be crazy and play games and stuff, but that doesn't mean we can go around singing our lungs off about whatever the heck we feel like. I was really nervous sometimes that security was going to give us the boot.

It happened to us. Moving too fast and since my friend doesnt really have too much money to be doing this, we split off so she could enjoy the otters and stuff.

Yeah I saw a lady take off with her kids because they kept asking about it and saying stuff to them about it.....that I dont want to repeat.

I didn't go but here's my $.02~

During public cosplay meetups if cosplayers consistently behave obnoxiously then people'll grow weary of cosplayers as a whole, even if it's only a select few that are misbehaving. It's not just, "normal" people that get irked by impoliteness, it's bothersome to everyone. As a cosplayer, I don't want to be stereotyped as loud and obtrusive, though that's a stigma that's already taking hold for cosplayers.

Really, all I want to say is please be respectful to others so that there won't be negativity associated with cosplay. And think of all the good karma you get from being nice 8~D

That's one thing I wish all cosplayers could uphold and that is a consideration for their manners. I normally don't like cosplaying in public, because I've been insulted for my passion many times before and didn't want to experience that again, so I only ever cosplay with groups. It doesn't help when the group I show up to decides to make a rough-housing display of themselves. It makes us look bad if we don't show the public that we're generally nice, rule-respecting people; not weirdos.

And thank you Sahara~

That is a problem with going to places like the zoo. Cosplayers need to be somewhere they can run around and be loud, like a park. Not in an enclosed space like a zoo or a mall. That is asking for trouble.

I completely second this, thank you Sahara. I can actually remember a very specific person that was making me weary ALL THE TIME while we were there. I didn't want to be around said person since I didn't want to be stereotyped as an obnoxious cosplayer, though I probably was since I was in the vicinity of said person. Next time...guys really. Next time we should have stricter guidelines about how to act in public...because this was just not okay.

I agree, and disagree with that statement. While I was at the zoo, even though about half of the group was being loud and obnoxious, I generally had a pleasant time. It was fun waving to little children, and we even met some people who asked us which anime we were from. So I disagree that the zoo is a bad place for cosplayers to visit.

Also, as an older cosplayer, I don't feel the need to run around and be loud. Mature cosplayers can spend time out in society without too much trouble, because we don't make people hate us when we go out.

The part I agree with is mall-hopping in cosplay. Shopping centers are MUCH more enclosed than the zoo or other public parks, and I've had bad experiences in almost every mall I went to in cosplay.

After we dispatched from them my friend was all worried that they got kicked out (cuz we never saw them again).
Darn near lucky they didnt.

Same here a VERY specific person.

@sam
I agree. the zoo wasn't a bad place for cosplay it was unpleasant because just
some of the cosplayers were unable to maintain a relaxed behavior.
Waving at kids was fun :D

No, I looked to see if I could find them on the forum and unfortunately I'm unable to. This makes me weary but oh well. Hopefully it never happens again.

I also agree that more open places are good, but at the same time you have to be just as careful there. In general people need to be respectful and decent no matter where you are. That's just sort of how we should be, especially since we're showing another side of America's culture that most people aren't used to. So we should just be careful, give ourselves a good image no matter where we venture to!

Wow, can't believe that happened..Well, sadly, I can.

Maybe if we do it again, limit it to how many people can come, and if others want to come, they may, but not really apart of the main group?

I don't know. Maybe the zoo is just not a good idea.

I don't know. Maybe the zoo is just not a good idea.

I thought the zoo was fun in cosplay~ I would have no qualms about going there again, especially if it's with my friends.

I agree. I had a great time and the people there were quite nice, outside the cosplay group I mean. I'd love to do that again if I was with my friends.~

That is a problem with going to places like the zoo. Cosplayers need to be somewhere they can run around and be loud, like a park. Not in an enclosed space like a zoo or a mall. That is asking for trouble.

Shopping centers are MUCH more enclosed than the zoo or other public parks, and I've had bad experiences in almost every mall I went to in cosplay.

well the thing is that most people who go to these meet-ups are between the ages of 12 and 17 and sadly a lot of them can be loud and immature at times. I can easily see security following the group around in places like the zoo.

I totally understand what you're saying, but I have to make my point that cosplayers shouldn't write off the zoo as a place they can't visit and have fun. Cosplayers, regardless of age, who respect others and present themselves as friendly and courteous should have no problems there.

I agree with you sam :D
It doesn't really depend on there age. Like Lavi
was 13 and she acted WAY more mature then other cosplays.
Cosplayers should just respect and present themselves the way they
want to be treated.

Yes! Abigail is an excellent example of this. She's only thirteen and she acted way more mature than half of the fifteen year olds that were there. As for everything else. Age=Unimportant, Courtesy=Very Important. Simple as that.

But the fact is there is a lot of cosplayers who DON'T respect others and behave. I would love to go to the zoo in cosplay but I would only go with people I KNOW are mature enough and wont get us kicked out. Same with the mall. The mall is fine as long as you aren't with a group of people who act like idiots.
