October 25, 2006 - Anime article contest extended - *again*

The deadline for the anime article contest has been extended again until Saturday, November 11, 11:59pm.

This gives you a bit over two weeks more to write your article telling the world about Kumoricon! (We thought this was more reasonable than just a 3-day extension. :) ) See further down the page to review the official rules.
Good luck!

August 30, 2006 - Cosplay Waiver

To participate in the cosplay contest everyone must fill out the cosplay waiver anyone under the age of 18 must have a parental signature as well.

August 29, 2006 - Props Policy Change

Due to negotiations with hotel security, Kumoricon policy must be ammended as follows:

Absolutely no metal props will be allowed within Kumoricon convention space. This includes but is not limited to prop swords and stage steel. Accesories, such as jewlery and headbands, are fine. Metal foil may be approved on a case by case basis.

No masks or other items which obscure an attendees face from view may be worn while in the corridors and common areas of the hotel.

*** EDIT ***After talking with the hotel, the concensus is that if hotel security asks you to remove your mask, then please do so. They mainly want to be able to see people’s faces when they are in the main lobby. When you’re downstairs, or by the ballrooms, you shouldn’t need to worry about the mask issue

No airsoft guns will be permitted. Plastic toy guns are acceptable, if not designed to fire a projectile. Guns must be obvious fakes at a distance of ten feet.

As always, props cannot be brandished in any way. Only when posing for a still photo may props be held in any manner that could be deamed threatening.

The staff of Kumoricon entends our apologies to anyone adversely affected by this policy change. If you have any questions, please ask at peacebonding when you pick up your badge at con, or refer to the forum thread in General Discussion, “Prop Policy Change”.

PLEASE BRING YOUR PROPS FOR REVIEW IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION. WE’D RATHER SEE THE ITEM AND OKAY IT OR NOT THAN MISS OUT ON A PROP THAT WOULD PASS.

THESE POLICIES AFFECT ONLY THE INDOOR CONVENTION SPACE.

August 25, 2006 - New Schedule

New Schedule is up for your more acurate plannings of the con!
