Accessibility

We strive to provide a welcoming experience to all attendees at Kumoricon. Our venues, the Oregon Convention Center and the DoubleTree Hotel Portland, are designed for accessibility and provides a wide range of features to assist visitors.

When registering for or checking in to the convention, members requesting accessibility accommodation can skip the regular Kumoricon registration line and receive service at the Kumoricon Registration management desk. Please visit the Kumoricon Operations Office for further accessibility accommodations throughout the convention.

A gender-neutral restroom is available in public spaces at the Oregon Convention Center within the Kumoricon area.

Kumoricon welcomes animals that are trained to provide assistance, through a specific action, to an individual with a disability. (Please be aware that the Oregon Convention Center otherwise prohibits all animals on its campus. This includes therapy or anxiety pets. Only animals trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability, through a specific action, are allowed. For any official Kumoricon programming held outside the Oregon Convention Center, the policies for the venue where that programming is held apply.)

Kumoricon features a quiet room, known as the Away From Kumo (AFK) Room. The AFK Room welcomes all attendees who need to step away from the hubbub of the event, and decompress or relax. The AFK Room is located in Rooms D129/D130 in the Ginkoberry Concourse of the Oregon Convention Center (OCC).

We are in the process of expanding our accessibility program. For an accommodation request or for any questions, please contact accessibility@kumoricon.org.
