Registration Changes for Kumoricon 2024

In our decision to move to another platform this year for our registration services, we recognize there are many changes that come with that decision, and we would like to be as transparent as possible on what those will look like for Kumoricon 2024 and future convention years.
One of the first major changes was already announced earlier this year: that for Kumoricon 2024, we will not be personalizing badges in any capacity this year. With that said, we know that many of our attendees like to have either a name or social media handle present on their badges, and would like you to know we plan to have a spot on the badge available for you to write a name, fan name, or social media handle of your choosing. You may also choose to leave the space blank as well. Pronoun stickers will be available upon request at check-in/purchase.
Secondly, we are transitioning away from separate pre-registration and at-con registration lines and moving into one larger line, snaking into all available spaces where staff members are available to assist you. This is due to our new system allowing our staff members to perform all duties (pre-registration check-in and at-con purchasing) across many devices within the registration area. With research done on other conventions’ use of this program and their decrease in line wait times (instead of 3 hours, think of 45 minutes), we expect this change to assist attendees in getting through our lines faster and enjoying more that our convention has to offer!
Lastly, with this new program, we are also able to offer membership sales outside of “open” hours. Starting November 6th, at-the-door pricing for full weekend memberships will be available online for purchase and can be picked up on Thursday at early check-in! In addition to that, the ability to purchase weekend memberships in-person will also be available on Thursday during open Registration hours. This is in hopes that allowing more people to pick up and purchase on Thursday will spread out numbers across busier days like Friday and Saturday. In addition to that, Friday badges will be available for sale starting at 9:00pm PT Thursday, November 7th. This will allow for pre-purchase for attendees who are looking to only purchase a day badge and will be available for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday day passes at their respective times (9:00pm PT on both Friday and Saturday). If you have any issues with the online system to purchase or need in-person assistance, again, any of our staff members will be happy to help on-site as well!
