Artist Alley

The Kumoricon Artist Alley welcomes amateur and professional artists to showcase their work and original merchandise. Artist Alley merchandise traditionally includes fan art prints, manga, models, paintings, and novelty crafts, but is limited only by your imagination.

Applications for the Kumoricon 2024 Artist Alley are now closed.

A decision regarding your application will be completed by our selections jury on or around the week of July 29, 2024.

Application jury process

Kumoricon’s 2024 Artist Alley will be utilizing a jury process to accept applications. Applications received by the closure date (see below) will be chosen based on the jury process without regard to when they were submitted. The jury process will begin following the close of Artist Alley applications with notifications of your status going out to all applicants by the week of July 29. The jury process will be based on (in order of importance):

  1. Adhering to the Artist Alley rules and guidelines based on information in the application (incomplete applications are disqualified)
  2. Variety of products/offerings/artwork (categories of many types)
  3. Professionalism and completeness of portfolio

Artists should be ready to provide:

  • Basic contact information, including an up-to-date email address
  • Examples of work through photos of booths at prior events (this is highly preferred), DeviantArt/YouTube tutorial/websites with example art, or any online link that gives examples of at least 10 pieces of work.*

*Note: If your examples display violations described in the Artist Alley contract , your application will be denied, unless you mention in the "additional information" field that that piece is excluded.

Sharing a table

Up to two artists may share a single table in the Artist Alley. If you wish to do so, do not apply separately—apply as a single applicant. On the application, be sure to utilize the secondary email address and portfolio URL questions within the application below for the shared artist. Shared artist tables will be juried as one artist with an average score between the two being assigned as the result. While there is no difference in fees between solo and shared Artist Alley tables, bear in mind that there are still only two badges given per table unless additional badges are purchased separately.

Artist collectives or groups beyond two individuals are not allowed to share a single table and must apply separately. Be sure to review our subletting policy on the contract outlined below—the artwork or merchandise of artists not on your original application are not allowed to be sold, distributed, or displayed at your table.

Pricing and applications: Full Artist Alley spaces include 2 full weekend memberships (valued at $120–$160), and will have a cost of $275 for standard tables.

Artist Alley tables are typically 6-foot tables with a 2-foot width and two chairs. Each artist table typically includes 2 weekend memberships to the convention.

Artists seeking to participate in Artist Alley should not register as attendees at this time, but instead, apply to Artist Alley using the application link below.
