This Coordinator-level position answers to the Assistant Director (Portland) but can complete tasks within the entire Portland/Vancouver metro area. This position is year-round with focus on pre-con work. Pre-con, this position is required to connect with and keep a consistent dialog with the municipal organizations that will keep the convention working. These are primarily, but not limited to, the Vancouver Downtown Association, the City of Vancouver, The Vancouver Police Bureau, The Vancouver Travel Board and the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce as well as the Portland equivalents. Tasks include attending meetings of these offices, and gathering information relevant to our function as well as, if necessary and approved by the Director or Assistant Directors, speaking on behalf of Kumoricon for the benefit of our attendees. This position transforms into a Police and City Liaison at con in charge of connecting with and keeping a dialog with said parties during the convention as well as providing reliable access to these groups to Operations when the Facilities Liaison is unavailable.
