Silent Charity Auction and Art Show
Kumoricon has a long history of giving back to our local community. Since 2005, Kumoricon has hosted a Charity Auction benefiting one or more local charities. In 2018, we raised over $12,000 in contributions. This year, we're excited to continue to dedicate our charity proceeds toward two beneficiaries: OHSU's Doernbecher Children's Hospital and The Greeney Family Fund for Japanese Track Scholarships at The International School.
For Kumoricon 2021, we are excited to feature a silent auction and art show. Attendees will be able to browse items and place bids at their convenience throughout the convention. All Silent Auction/Art Show winners must be present at the closing of the bids on Sunday. Purchases will be able to be made after the clock runs out.

Art Show
Open for viewing alongside the Silent Auction, the Art Show will be on display to show off our talent community. Featuring items from our Artist Alley participants as well as other individuals, we accept nearly all forms of art. We have displayed handmade bags, shadow boxes, prints, cosplay photography, and much more.
10% of the revenue from sales of selected pieces will go toward Kumoricon's chosen charities while the remainder will go to the artist. Artist payments will be sent within a month from the conclusion of the convention.
FAQ
What sort of items are available at Kumoricon's Charity Auction?
In order to run our Charity Auction every year, we rely on donations from staff, attendees, and our industry partners. Donations range from original artworks, rare signed prints, gift certificates, or even certificates for services (subscriptions, commissions, etc.). Donors to our Art Show may also indicate if they would like the sale of their item(s) to benefit our charity. Unique and hard to find items tend to do best, but we appreciate all donations.
How do I donate to Kumoricon's Charity Auction?
Contributions may be brought to a general meeting, or mailed to the mailing address listed on our donation form. Donations may be brought to the convention; however, we may decide to hold the donation for a future auction. If you are mailing items, please include the Charity Auction Donation Form with the mailed items, or email a copy to charity@kumoricon.org. We reserve the right to accept or reject any donation.
You may also email charity@kumoricon.org with any questions.
