Kumoricon's Away From Kumo (AFK) Room is a quiet room for all attendees who need to step away from the hubbub of the event, and decompress or relax. The AFK Room is located in Rooms G129–G130 in the Ginkoberry Concourse of the Oregon Convention Center (OCC). This is within the OCC's free Wi-Fi zone. In this room, you can work, write, think, chill out, or even doodle as long as long as your activities don't make noise. You are welcome to use electronics as long as they are on silent and do not make noise to use, including loud keyboards and headphones. Please refrain from holding conversations with others in the room, listening to music that can be heard by others, and making phone calls. If you and someone else in the room want to chat, please step out of the room. In the event others are talking or making noise in the room, and you are comfortable reminding them of the rules, please do so. Otherwise contact staff by texting our Yojimbo team at (971) 232-1342 or emailing operations@kumoricon.org.

Come play the traditional Asian board games of mahjong, go, and shogi! Japanese mahjong, also known as riichi mahjong, is a skill game with chance elements similar to the Western card game of rummy. Go is a two-player strategy game in which players compete to surround the most territory on the board. Shogi is a popular chess variant native to Japan. All three of these games are widely played throughout Japan and have served as the subject matter for popular anime/manga series such as Saki, Akagi, Hikaru no Go, and 3-gatsu no Lion. No prior experience is needed—all skill levels are welcome.

Do you like playing tabletop games? Do you like free things? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you should come check out our Play and Win program (PAW)! The rules are simple: everyone who plays one of our PAW games is entered into a drawing for that game at the end of con. You only get one entry per game, but you can enter every game's drawing! Winners will be announced at 2:00pm on Sunday at the PAW Library, and they have until 3:00pm to pick up their game(s). At 3:00pm we will begin drawing new winners for any unclaimed games, but these new winners must be present to receive the game. For more information, please see PAW staff.

In this panel, we’ll talk about the exponential growth in popularity of virtual streamers, why we love them, and how (for some reason) they all sing. Kumoricon's Away From Kumo (AFK) Room is a quiet room for all attendees who need to step away from the hubbub of the event, and decompress or relax. The AFK Room is located in Rooms G129–G130 in the Ginkoberry Concourse of the Oregon Convention Center (OCC). This is within the OCC's free Wi-Fi zone. In this room, you can work, write, think, chill out, or even doodle as long as long as your activities don't make noise. You are welcome to use electronics as long as they are on silent and do not make noise to use, including loud keyboards and headphones. Please refrain from holding conversations with others in the room, listening to music that can be heard by others, and making phone calls. If you and someone else in the room want to chat, please step out of the room. In the event others are talking or making noise in the room, and you are comfortable reminding them of the rules, please do so. Do you like playing tabletop games? Do you like free things? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you should come check out our Play and Win program (PAW)! The rules are simple: everyone who plays one of our PAW games is entered into a drawing for that game at the end of con. You only get one entry per game, but you can enter every game's drawing! Winners will be announced at 2:00pm on Sunday at the PAW Library, and they have until 3:00pm to pick up their game(s). At 3:00pm we will begin drawing new winners for any unclaimed games, but these new winners must be present to receive the game. For more information, please see PAW staff.

Originally known as the Boston Waltz, having taken form on our east coast, the slow waltz as it is now called is perhaps the most widely practiced International Standard dance. Usually serving as both the greenhorn's first foray into the genre as well as being the perfect intro into the more iconic Viennese version (the word version perhaps being unfit here as it is the originator of "waltzing"). This is a must-learn if one wants to master the International Standard styles.

Developed out of the first styles of Tango from North America and Europe, American Tango is a simplified version of Argentine Tango that is danced by everyone from beginners to world champion competitors. American Tango uses sharper movements than its Argentinian sibling, and is known for its characteristic head snaps.

This is an exhibition and demonstration of the boffer-LARP Amtgard. We are an international LARP organization with groups all over the place. We have crafters, leadership, and most importantly, boffer fighting. Most of our groups meet weekly to engage in games, fighting, and teaching crafting.

Tournament will use the World Riichi Championship rule-set. All participants will play two tonpuusen (East round only) rounds capped at 1 hour each. After these rounds, the top four finishers point-wise will proceed to play a full hanchan (East and South rounds) to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Max players: 20

Portland-based saxophonist Soneji is known for his anime sax covers on YouTube, most notably his cover of "Fukashigi no Karte" from the 2018 anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. He has also played saxophone for some bigger anime cover artists such as Mr. Goatee, Vulkain, and Caitlyn Myers. Kentaro Miura, the author of Berserk, passed away earlier this year, leaving fellow strugglers without their friend and mentor. In remembrance of a truly inspirational and talented mangaka, this collection of AMVs and MMVs takes us through the various versions and adaptations of Miura's magnum opus: Berserk.

You're cordially invited to an adventure at Kumoricon's Fungus Fiefdom Grand Ball, where you can dance the night away, sweep someone off their feet, and/or twirl around the ballroom. The KumoriBall is an eloquent adventure you can embark on to level up your ballroom skills. Lessons will be offered throughout the convention. First and foremost, this is a formal, video game themed event. Attendees not wearing formal attire will not be admitted. Formal attire consists of suits, slacks, button-up shirts, blouses, knee/ankle length dresses, capes, and other worldly accepted ceremonial/military attire. Formal dresses should be below the knee. Due to the theme of this event, a formal rendition of a video game outfit/cosplay or accessory is heavily encouraged.

Kumoricon's Away From Kumo (AFK) Room is a quiet room for all attendees who need to step away from the hubbub of the event, and decompress or relax. The AFK Room is located in Rooms G129–G130 in the Ginkoberry Concourse of the Oregon Convention Center (OCC). This is within the OCC's free Wi-Fi zone. In this room, you can work, write, think, chill out, or even doodle as long as long as your activities don't make noise. You are welcome to use electronics as long as they are on silent and do not make noise to use, including loud keyboards and headphones. Please refrain from holding conversations with others in the room, listening to music that can be heard by others, and making phone calls. If you and someone else in the room want to chat, please step out of the room. In the event others are talking or making noise in the room, and you are comfortable reminding them of the rules, please do so. Do you like playing tabletop games? Do you like free things? If you answered yes to either of these questions, you should come check out our Play and Win program (PAW)! The rules are simple: everyone who plays one of our PAW games is entered into a drawing for that game at the end of con. You only get one entry per game, but you can enter every game's drawing! Winners will be announced at 2:00pm on Sunday at the PAW Library, and they have until 3:00pm to pick up their game(s). Come play the traditional Asian board games of mahjong, go, and shogi! Japanese mahjong, also known as riichi mahjong, is a skill game with chance elements similar to the Western card game of rummy. Go is a two-player strategy game in which players compete to surround the most territory on the board. Shogi is a popular chess variant native to Japan. All three of these games are widely played throughout Japan and have served as the subject matter for popular anime/manga series such as Saki, Akagi, Hikaru no Go, and 3-gatsu no Lion. No prior experience is needed—all skill levels are welcome.
