You are also strongly encouraged to attend one of our monthly general meetings, where current and future staff meet up to plan. These meetings are open to the public and the dates are announced on the front page news and on the meetings page.

The organizational chart diagrams all the staff positions within the convention, showing which staff positions report to whom. Each staff member should work with the person they report to for guidance on their staff duties. The organizational chart also indicates the rank of each position with an icon. The rank is a broad classification of the level of responsibilities and amount of work in a staff position, and it indicates relative position in a chain of command.

At-con responsibilities are largely problem solving on site if a hotel-related problem arises, answering questions, and checking in regularly to make sure that everything is running smoothly. This position sometimes interacts with hotel staff directly, as well as involving outward-facing work directly with staff and attendees as needed due to its problem solving nature. Must be able to type, do data entry, do some customer service work both in person and online, and be available for some amount of pre-con training as well as pre-con work.

Help make critical decisions regarding the development and operation of the Membership Department as a whole. If the Director of Membership is not available the Assistant Director is in charge of making executive-level decisions for the department. The Assistant will need to use extensive knowledge of processes and procedures for both the convention and the department in order to make and enact plans for the future of the department. This position requires that the person filling it go above and beyond standard management-level tasks. Work with the Email Coordinator to answer emails sent to the registration inbox in a timely manner. This position is in charge of hiring, scheduling, and training of all departmental staff and making sure there is staff-wide knowledge of current departmental procedures. Required to work with Accessibility Management to facilitate specialized training throughout the year to learn how to support members requesting accessibility accommodations. Interact with VIP members prior to con to drive enthusiasm and keep them informed of all VIP benefits as they are announced. At-con (Wednesday): The Manager is in charge of setting up the Attendee Registration area and ensuring a smooth set-up of the VIP and Accessibility Registration booth. This includes the set-up of work stations, working with IT and Reg Dev to ensure the computers and software are ready for use by open on Thursday, as well as making sure all signage for the area is displayed properly. Monitor and delegate staff to the VIP and Accessibility Registration Coordinators to help with set-up and assembling of VIP gift bags. At-con (Thursday-Sunday): The Manager oversees the entire Attendee Registration department. They are responsible for resolving any escalated issues using customer service and proper convention procedure. They will also need to work with the Registration Management Team (assistants and coordinators) and Accessibility Department to ensure the department is running smoothly. At-con (Sunday): The Manager is responsible for leading the tear-down, inventory, and pack-up of the Attendee Registration Area as well as working with the Quartermaster team to assist with the tear-down and pack-up of other departments as needed.

Oversee the VIP and Accessibility Registration booth at con (please refer to the at-con responsibilities of the VIP and Accessibility Registration Coordinator). At-con (Thursday-Sunday): Responsible for making sure that staff are checked in and out at the correct times as well as figuring out how to handle call-ins or no-shows. In charge of monitoring Coordinators and General Registration Staff during the convention to make sure people are being helped efficiently and that lines are moving quickly. Responsible for assigning the Training Coordinators to either work a station or to work with a Coordinator. The Lead Coordinator should try to help resolve any member issues using customer service prior to escalating to the Manager on duty. This position requires clear communication skills and regular status updates to the Manager on duty, as well as customer service skills and a leadership ability. At-con (Sunday): Assist with the tear-down, inventory, and pack-up of the Attendee Registration Area as well as working with the Quartermaster team to assist with the tear-down and pack-up of other departments as needed.

Coordinators are essentially the spot-checkers of the Attendee Registration Department. Coordinators should try to help the general staff resolve any attendee issues using customer service prior to escalating to the Lead Coordinator. This position requires clear communication skills and regular status updates to the Lead Coordinator, as well as customer service skills and a leadership ability. The Coordinator may be asked to assist with "filling in" if general Registration Staff do not arrive at their scheduled times or if someone requires a break. At-con (Sunday): Assist with the tear-down, inventory, and pack-up of the Attendee Registration Area as well as working with the Quartermaster team to assist with the tear-down and pack-up of other departments as needed.

This position requires specialized training throughout the year to become familiar with the registration system, procedures, and policies. This includes, but is not limited to, learning the at-con VIP processes and meeting with the Accessibility Management to learn how to better work with members requesting accessibility accommodations. This position requires the use of excellent customer service as well as being comfortable with on-the-spot troubleshooting and be a possible point of contact for both accessibility and VIP members. You need to be willing to work with multiple departments to handle both VIP and accessibility requests as they arise. May need to work with the Accessibility Department for assistance with accessibility requests, questions, or concerns. At-con (Wednesday): Assist with the set-up of the VIP and Accessibility Registration area. Set up and assemble VIP gift bags, and work with IT and Reg Dev to make sure that the computers and software are ready for use by opening on Thursday. Have a final meeting with the Accessibility Management team to cover any last minute additions and changes to the At-Con Process. At-con (Thursday-Sunday): Check in VIP members by giving them their badges, material VIP benefits, and providing additional details to any VIP questions, as well as checking in convention members with accessibility needs who have either pre-registered or who are purchasing a membership at the event. Basic-to-proficient computer skills and cash handling experience required. At-con (Sunday): Assist with the tear-down, inventory, and pack-up of the VIP and Accessibility Registration Area as well as the tear-down and pack-up of other departments as needed.

Attend and assist with any training of the general Registration Staff prior to con. Expected to learn/know, adhere to, and enforce Membership policies and procedures. At-con (Thursday-Sunday): Report to the Lead Coordinator to receive instructions for shift. Will either be assigned to work at a station with attendees, work with a general staffer in need of training or partner with a coordinator to shadow and train. At-con (Sunday): Assist with the tear-down, inventory, and pack-up of the Attendee Registration Area as well as working with the Quartermaster team to assist with the tear-down and pack-up of other departments as needed.

Con Suite Manager

Pre-con (year round): In charge of running and scheduling monthly Con Suite Management meetings. In charge of hiring, training, and scheduling of all Con Suite Staff. Over the course of the convention weekend, the Manager is in charge of working with their management team to create a total of 9-10 meals that include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and accommodate as many specialty diets as possible. Also in charge of creating shopping lists and helping to purchase food and other minor items for con. During con, will be required to work more than the minimum hours, and is expected to arrive at Con Suite before opening to set up Con Suite room and stay after closing time to assist with tear-down and send-off.
Experience: Requires 2 years experience in a Con Suite style position, with at least 1 year within Kumoricon. Requires 2 years restaurant experience.
